EMIRATES Lounges in Oz - Current Status

Happy to report the QF F lounge opened at 4:30am and EK F pax welcomed. On a separate note it’s so sad to see the decimation of retail/f&b at SYD post covid, all those jobs gone. Can’t see it returning any time soon.
Wow, I didn’t realise it opened that early! I recall once catching a “sparrows” flight to NZ and having to wait for immigration to open - I’m sure it was much later than that. Anyway, useful to know.

Thanks for the update - Qantas website still states that the QF lounge is only open early when QF67 is in operation.
Unfortunately I will be flying out on a day when QF67 isn't operating, so I'll have to wait and see...

When are you flying? Is it too late to switch to the right day?

Later this month.

F rewards for end of March have been gone for a while now, and even if new availability came up, the huge increase in the fuel surcharge makes it not viable to do so (I only paid $4xx in surcharge which is a fraction of the current price!)

Will just settle for in-flight meals and drinks if the QF lounge isn't available

Am flying EK415 on 4 April which is a non QF67 day. Would be keen to know what lounge, if any you get sent to?

Is QF67 operating past March 27 at all?
I can QF69 (MEL-DEL) in the schedule past this date. But I dont see QF67. Does it mean that EK415 passengers are going to be lounge-less everyday after this?

my experience was different to lukus' one. As qf67 is no longer operating, the qf lounges were not open when I checked in at around 0430.
I was given a $40 food and beverage voucher to spend, there was only 1 store open at that time to spend it on.
Although I was told at check in that the qf lounge was not open, I have a feeling that they opened up at 5am, although by the time I walked past, it was too late to enter...

I would suggest waiting until 5am to enter although you'll only get around 20-25 min in there

We are flying Emirates Business Class at 6.00am in May. Does anyone know if we will be able to utilise a lounge in Sydney Airport so early in the morning?

Just experienced it myself: QF Lounge closed as CHC flight already departed, redirected to Premium Plaza Lounge, no beers and food dreadful. I feel bad for paying J passenger to have to “enjoy this”.

Thought I’d jump in here even though not out of SYD. Flying BNE-DXB in F on Sunday week. Assuming it’s going to be the Plaza Premium Lounge as the only option? Giving consideration to not even bothering and turning up just in time for boarding.

Yes, at least it was in February 2022 unless it has changed since:

Currently in the Plaza Premium Lounge at BNE awaiting boarding for EK431. Quite small and fairly cramped. They seem to have shoved as many seats in as possible. Can’t say it’s a disaster as food is adequate and plenty of drink options, but wouldn’t be keen to spend hours here obviously.

Did have what I thought was quite a bizarre experience at the bar earlier though. Went to get a can of Coke and the self serve section were all warm. Asked for one of the cold ones in the fridge only to be told no, those are for making coughtails. Made no real sense to me why you wouldn’t just put more in the fridge. Anyway, I added a bourbon on the rocks which then made it ok for me to get a cold can.

Are the rules changing and lounges opening, with opening up of the world to travel? BC (that's Before Covid) I used the EK lounge (they had Glenmorangie) at Sydney Int when the Qantas flight was from a gate nearby. (It's a long walk from Q F lounge to the 60s gates). Qantas booking on Qantas metal.

There's movement at the station ....

No BNE...

Does anyone know the current state of play for accessing the QF F lounge when travelling on a EK flight number in F. I have not been to concerned in the past as I normally just travelled with my QFF number on the EK flight but am thinking to switch to my EK (blue) number for the free wi-fi. I am QF P1 travelling on an EK flight number in F. Looking at the QF lounge access rules I should be able to get F longe access but am unsure of what QF and EK agreements are currently in place.

This is what I am familiar with, P1 travelling on EK flight numbers be it in F or J

Similar to my above I have access to the F lounge based on QF status when travelling EK J. The flight I am asking about in this post about is an EK F flight, so class of travel seems to tick the correct boxes.

This is the one that confuses me as I am only EK blue and there is no mention to access the QF F lounge,

Simple question are the rules based on travel class EK/QF lounge access are these still in play?
