Etihad Lounge in Melbourne?

Went and checked out the new lounge to clarify a few queries I had and for a look. Manager on duty was kind enough to give me a full tour, even though I was flying Thai direct to BKK that day. My impressions were extremely positive, open bright and modern space with an emphasis on F&B. He even extended an invitation to have a drink at the bar as a VFF WP and potential customer. They have designed a new range of bespoke coughtails all named after landmark cities (or countries?, my memory faded after a few). Service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable on matters EY (and Abu Dhabi). Couldn't have been more impressed and the overall feel was similar to the (now old) EY F lounge in Abu Dhabi. Just in case anyone wondered (as I did), the lounge is only available when flying EY on that day, regardless on status.

Hi Gill,

I have happily just booked an F Apartment trip through to London for Mrs B and my anniversary next year. Very much looking forward to starting the journey in the lounge as a travelling guest, then trying out the full F offering to follow, including the new First lounge in AUH.

Small question but to access the lounge, can you still do this even if crediting the flight to EY rather than VA? (As VA gold/plat and only Guest with EY flying in Y?)

Yes, you can definitely access the lounge as a gold/plat VA, with either a VA or EY boarding pass
