Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Received a credit card in yesterdays mail that I have activated. It was worth the wait as they did a $20k limit.
A point per dollar completes the circle as far as I am concerned.
So here is the way I hope it works:
Citi Select for federal taxes for QF points and other business bills.(Point per dollar)
Woolworths Everyday Rewards for personal bills for QF points.(Point per dollar)
Amex Ultimate for faster points on taxes and QF bonuses on QF flight payments.( Point and a half per dollar)
Then for SQ KRIS:
Westpac Platinum Visa for federal taxes and other business bills.( KRIS point per dollar)
Westpac Amex for faster points on taxes.(Kris point and a half per dollar)

I can now junk 3 half point per dollar cards when they come up for renewal!

Are these worth the annual fees that you are paying? :)

That's an effective lineup for very large spends. Other good cards for people who want to earn QFF points on business expenditures are:

- Amex plat charge (1.5 QFF per dollar up to $300K, 1 QFF per dollar over)

- Citibusiness gold visa (1.25 QFF per dollar up to $64K)

Yes I am targeting big numbers and I agree that smaller numbers can be run up by using cheaper cards provided you watch out for the cap limits.
Everyone has different circumstances so one system does not fit all.
Everyday rewards is $89
Amex Ultimate is $495 negotiable maybe
Westpac Kris Flyer Platinum is $195 for both cards Amex and Visa
Citi Select is $749 including QF option

Now if you have any card that you cannot pay off in full please stop reading now.......

The final thing is to get big limits otherwise you have to keep refilling the cards!

I also got an odd letter saying "call us".

Also seemed to have my annual income down as monthly. Either two of us misread the form, or its a bit dodgy.

Anyway, cleared it up and a credit card has appeared in my EDR account. Not sure if that means they'll want proof of income or not (nobody's called my office to check I earn what I say I do...)

I applied pretty soon after it became available (1st or 2nd I think).

I never had any indication on the Everyday Rewards website, but the letter arrived today - though it is dated the 4th nov - which is a worry that it took ten days to be mailed out (I've been out of town for the last few days, so have no idea when it actually arrived, even with the slowness of mail here it took them a week minimum to post it from when it was created).

It only wants me to fax a recent pay slip through. It says if it wants ID, then to use the point system and go to the woolworths store and included a self addressed reply paid envelope.

I find it a bit concerning that they didn't customise it very much at all ("If one of the items we have asked you to confirm above is your identity, please bring this letter, along with appropriate identification documents, to the service desk of any Woolworths..." )

It also says that my application is only open for a limited time so I need to send it within 14 days, which is a bit harsh given I only opened the letter today - 14 days after it was supposedly issued (and I have tomorrow off as a long weekend trip since I'm feeling a bit over work atm).

I only want the card for the establishment points (and to put transactions that don't have amex as an option through on, but the 1/2 point difference is hardly worth mentioning). My real debate will be whether to retire my earth gold credit cards and go to the amex platinum edge and everyday rewards as a combo instead. Quite a tough call since I've found Westpac pretty good to deal with, but that free flight is worth about the cost of the platinum edge is very tempting over the earth gold which I historically viewed as my international travel insurance (which the amex platinum edge seems better than, with less excess and domestic included as well - though with no hire care cover).

Mine too was dated the 4th November and arrived on the 17th, so I think they just took their time getting them out. Was a little rich saying it's only valid for 14 days when it took nearly that long to send it.

Thats pretty soft? Only 1 recent payslip. I remember Westpac normally asks for 3 months of payslip when obtaining a credit card.

Applied 11th, nothing obvious on Account Friday 12th.

This Monday, card application number was showing.

Today, a Card number: Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card 549472xx_xx_x999

:D

Similar experience here; I applied on Monday 15th and today (Friday 19th) a card number is displaying. Gotta love those double points!

Please let us know next month how the points on this go for your personal tax payment.

You don't use BPay, the ATO has a special online portal where you pay

Bugger, I've been passing up Business class round the world fares for the last few years! Payment limit appears to have been raised to $50K

Thanks for pointing this one out.

Yes it is easier now to pay ATO.In one phone call you can wave goodbye to 5 lots of $50,000 so that is up to $250000 in about 10 minutes of keying in the EFT/PRN and the card details.
But now we are waiting to see how our "tester" goes with a personal tax bill next month.

Wonder if the banks ever do an audit on the points we earn from the cards? Surely if you go through $50,000 in one transaction, it becomes quite suspicious.

I rather do it $10,000 each hit, at least I hope they haven't noticed the transaction, and let us get the points.

Well got my first points transfer to QFF from this card. Every short first month 9 Nov to 16 Nov I'm guessing they wanted to charge the annual fee ASAP.

Now to pay off the balance and see how long it takes for the bonus 16,000 pts.

You could be waiting for a while....

Straight from the T&C's

"Allow up to 8 weeks after the qualifying purchase is made for the points to appear on your credit card statement, at which time your credit card account must be current and not in arrears."

For those that already have both an EDR card EDRCreditCard, can anybody confirm if the the barcode on the back of the credit card matches the same barcode number as the EDR card...?

I am guessing they should be the same which would mean that both cards will earn frequent flyer points.... (Yes I know the EDRCC will earn 2 points per $1 spend at woolworths owned shops)

Could be handy for a couple who in the past only could have separate cards linked to separate ff accounts... but only possible if the cards share the same numbers...
