Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I guess that if someone misses the first payment it becomes a much lower cost to them to stop the card inside 90 days.
I have used mine twice...once at Woolworths just to see how the rewards are loaded....the staff member knew what to do and told me she had seen heaps of these cards being used at her supermarket.
Normally I just use my Amex for the point and a half win.

Just tried to do mine and Mrs Rory Breakers ID check - very frustrating.

It 10 minutes to find anyone in the store that knew anything about the card, or the ID check.

Then I was told that the 'managers' only work in the morning in the week, and they are the only folk who can do the checks...

So we'll need to take a few hours off work to do this, crazy system.

Anyone else had similar problems?

Would like to get one of these cards to replace my useless ANZ Visa half point per $ card.

But I am unemployed so I have no hope as they need pay details.

Not as though my credit history is shabby either! My ANZ card has an enormous limit and I have a Amex Gold Card. Both get paid in full every month without fail.

But all that is irrelevant unfortunately. Pity, that 16,000 points would come in handy as it would take me just over the amount I need for a trip to London.

....defintely not the easiest process to get this card. Submitted all my details a few weeks ago - got a status update of pending application in the account area, since then nothing...

Seems to vary. Applied for mine one weekend. Changed from pending on the following Friday, and card arrived in post the next Wednesday or Thursday. No id or income proof required and a 20% of gross income credit limit. Others have different experiences.

Richard.

It was a little painful for me. Over two weeks, a visit to Woolworths for 100 points of ID and then a limit of 4.5% of gross salary. I don't have any history with HSBC though.

My American Express Platinum charge card arrived 8 days after application with no questions...but I have been an Amex member since 1996.

The Woolworths card is OK though and the 16,000 points are handy.

4.5% seems pretty low in my opinion, unless you have a salary of $500k lol. But seriously, I was given a limit of 30% of my gross salary (but here is the important thing) I have some freehold property which they could get their hands on if I was not paying the bills... :p

To think of it, I actually think I have more available credit on all my cards combined than my actual gross salary...!

All things being said, this is a great card to have if you can get one, pretty low annual cost for 1pt earn per $1 spent plus the sign up bonus...

Does anyone know if your can you get additional cards linked up to an account/primary card?

I've tried to search for this info online, but have had not luck (I threw out the flyer I grabbed from the supermarket). Sorry if this has been raised already...I only had a quick look through previous pages in search of such a topic.

An earlier OP mentioned that it was possible to do so with a written application and that the call centre advised it would be possible to do so online soon ( Dec I think)

We just received the (approved) primary card. No additional info / proof of income needed. All very easy and a nice limit.

When I rang to activate the card (20 mins on hold). I asked about the additional card we had also applied for at time of application (via paper based promo offer). They noted a letter would arrive etc. When you apply with the paper based application there is a specific section for the secondary card holder.

A few days later we got a letter saying take some ID for the additional card holder only to a W supermarket. This process took about 10 mins in store to check all the docs etc.

Now we wait for the additional card.

So it seems they issue the primary then may make you prove the ID of the additional card holder.

So far we've used the primary card and all good. We'll look to retire our CBA Plat Amex / MC and replace with our 'old' free Amex Qantas Premium card. It's also nice to be able to dump the EDR card ... once less bit of plastic to fill the wallet / purse.

Update on this- called woolies yesterday and had to make an appointment with the duty manager at the branch!

Got there and she was super helpful, she'd never done an ID check before, guess not many folk are applying for cards, as it was one of the big stores in Canberra.

Having used the card for over 2 weeks now, I can share my frustration as to how pathetic the internet banking site is. Transactions are 4-5 days behind (ie. a purchase transaction today will not appear online until 4-5 days later). I am one who regularly checks my credit card account online for unauthorised transactions and to keep track of my spending habits. Would be keen to hear what others think about the internet banking site.

It's cough.

As this is now my main card, I find it much less useful than the existing ANZ internet banking site.

My other gripe is that it really should show an itemised count of the FF points that have been earnt, all it shows as the moment is "points earned last month". Makes it a bit hard to make sure that you've got what you are entitled to, especially with the slow updating of transactions.

Yes the time delays are measured against the slick 4 main banks in Australia.
What we are there for is the generous double reward points compared with the BIG 4 for Qantas points.
As long as we finally get them and the annual fee is $89 I think we can afford to cut them quite a bit of slack.
Having said that a snail mail letter from a number of our group addressed to the General Manager would get them thinking about what should be fixed as letters still get higher action status than emails or calls to call centres.
Who wants to post the draft letter?

I wonder if the NAB issues may be Impacting the functionality of the Internet banking site?

I used the pay pass facility at a woolworths petrol location on the weekend, the petrol station requires a pre-pay after 6pm due to drive off's. Being a lazy bugger I thought I'd give the pay pass at the pump a go... Was plesantly suprised, fuel voucher for discounts are linked to the credit card so barcode scanning is not required. On screen instructions are clear and very informative and gave me clear details of fuel purchased, fuel discount applied and final transaction value. Was also emailed a tax invoice within 5 minutes of the transaction being processed (email on my smartphone).

All in all I thought it worked very good and from here on will not be paying in the shop unless I need to grab some bread / milk etc....

Excellent feedback, the one reason I wasn't doing this was that I need a tax invoice so I can claim back the cost of the fuel. Emailed tax invoice solves that problem though :)
