I called up the ERDCC helpline in regards to putting money on the card. Was told that the card could be put into credit by just popping into a Woolies, going to a teller/service desk and putting the money onto the card. Easy as pie. In the end, l just did a BPAY as l didn't have time to pop into a Woolies.

Biller code is 17574
Customer reference number is the CC Number

The process as designed by corporate team is quick and easy. What slows down the actual process is the lack of awareness amongst supermarket staff of the process steps.

There are still some that give a blank look when given the Woolworths Qantas CC in response to their request for EDR card.

Pehaps the corporate team forgot the step of cascasing the information about the new processes down to those who have to implement it. Lack of awareness by the teams on the floor reflects a management failure.

Not once have I presented my card and the checkout operator known about it.

You mean you have actually found a checkout cashier who knew what to do when you handed yours over? I have had to educate each and every cashier that my EDR number could be scanned off the back of my Credit Card...

Why in god's name the system doesn't automatically recognise my EDR account when I swipe my card is the real question - it should have been an integrated system. Poor development decision IMO.

I've made a payment in a Woollies, before I had direct debit set up. I was directed to the cigarette/inquires counter, and it was quick and painless process.

I tend to reach around and scan the card myself for EDR, rather than explain to the checkout staff what the card is and where the barcode is. It's quick and easy and doesn't seem to annoy the staff, as I feared it might (some even thank me).

Presumably there was a business decision not to do that, and I guess there are a number of people that are quite happy to pay with a different card.

While the epump thing at the service station is all integrated, they actually did have to go through the ACCC to get that cleared.

Registering each purchase on the EDR account should be an option rather than being tagged together with the CC on payment. Not everyone is comfortable using EDR as some are concerned about privacy issues (Woolies' ability to monitor your spending habits).

There will be people who are keen on the CC due to the 1:1 point ratio but not interested in fuel vouchers (eg. do not drive).

I'm not interested in the fuel vouchers (I drive, but not often enough for it to matter), but I signed up for EDR for the QFF points. Still, I like having the EDR separate, since I prefer to use my Amex to pay for purchases at Woolies. Amex gives more points, but the EDR Mastercard is a nice backup for when Amex is not accepted/charged extra.

The system does recognise the discount when paying at the pump... it is quite good actually. Maybe it is a future enhancement?

I have had a few checkout operators who knew about the card lately.

I find the points come through ( bonus points) a while later.

Do others have this happen to them?

I have had to wait up to two weeks, one week for the points to hit the everydayrewards site then another week for them to hit the QFF site...

Not really worried, as long as they come through...!

I applied for my card at the end of January when there would have been a rush. I've not had a single word since so I assume either it's a massive backlog or it's been lost and I'll never hear another word.
I can't recall an acknowledgment when I submitted it but I should look for it so I can get a reference number.
Anyone else not get a card or a turn-down letter?

Your assumption about the delay being due to a rush at month's end is likely to be the case. My partner applied at that time, and her EDR membership has been showing a pending application for the WOW QF MC ever since. Waiting ... :-|

FYI - I applied in mid Feb - I now have my card for over a week.

I had originally applied on-line in late November, but never received any responses.

I re-applied on-line in the last few days of January. Within 10 days I had received a conditional approval letter, then went to a Woolworths store, did the 100 point check, received the card and had it activated it over the phone by 19th February.

And lo ... in the mail today was a small piece of plastic bearing said partner's name. Nice timing, as certain seats in Row 1 on the JQ bus to SIN this weekend have our names on them. :)

Out of the blue my card showed up today. Credit limit in five digits. I don't recall asking for one or what it was. Very strange not to receive any confirmation at all and then it just shows up but I'll take it!

I've got Gold MC that I use for all my business transactions and travel - I run a small business - and a VISA linked to the home loan and bank accounts that is for the domestic stuff. I can set the MC up to be paid on the due date via BPay but the Visa occasionally gets forgotten as pre-dated payment is not allowed. Of course if you are 30 seconds late paying it they hit you with massive fees - last time it was around $180!
So stuff them. I'm cutting it up and using this card as it doesn't belong to the bank I can pre-dated BPay payments and never be late again!

(note I have never in 25 years of credit card use paid interest intentionally - not the sort of customer any CC provider wants I guess)

As marginal as it is, they still make $$$ off the merchant fees etc. And also it's like horse racing, yes you are on a clear winner with your method like most of us here, but there are many many others that play the game differently and see it as a spend-fest until the bill comes in

All CC companies need money to "flow" through their fingers like sand and at the very least they make good money by the small grains left behind etc... For those users that have a reputation for paying interest, the CC companies must be making $hitloads...!
