Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Got this today, apparently I'm a "great" customer and have been offered a 20% increase in credit limit of this card. I did not request this increase but will accept it as I sometimes struggle to keep within my current limit on this card... Anybody else get one of these...?

NO! -- and I feel hard done by. My limit is $8,000. I requested an increase to $20,000 after six months and got knocked back, despite having an exemplary payment record, using the full $8,000 three times a month, and having Amex Platinum and CBA Diamond cards with much higher limits. I complained over the phone, including on insisting speaking with a supervisor but got nowhere. The only thing I can think of is that my after-tax income is below the poverty line as a result of aggressive tax-management. The credit assessment system is automated (which the supervisor admitted) and human re-assessments are not done.

What is the percentage of available credit / debt of your gross income. You may have actually hit the maximum limit for your income level with this and your other cards.

Furthermore your initial credit limit of $8K is typically low for this card, many on here were given limits > $20k

Remember, you will only be given unsecured credit as long as you can service the debt, hence the typical credit limit is 50% gross income for these types of cards...

Walter, welcome to the world of re-loading credit cards. I never wanted to be the only one to have to do OPERATION RE-LOAD each month or so.
We have worked hard on getting 7 family cards up to the best limits given and it really is a work in progress. You just need to be very patient and apply in a year when your tax assessment says you had a great year.
The other thing is to zero out all your cards when you lodge the increase limit application.

This card has now been reduced to a 8,000 QFF sign on bonus, Annual fee $89 still applies which is too much cost up front for a mere 8,000 points...

For those that are wondering, its a really good 1:1 non Amex card, however the sign on bonus sucks.

The sign on bonus was reduced before, but was then increased back to 12,000 and then finally back to 16,000 QFF. My advice to anybody considering this card, wait a little while and you may find you can earn a better bonus for your hard earnt $89 sign on...

We just cancelled one between us (we had one each but with supplementary cards didn't need both). They offered 1,000 FF points to keep the account open. My partner said "make that 10,000 and we might consider it". I haven't found out what the result of that comment was yet though!

Hopefully they increase the sign on bonus later on this year.

My plan is to replace my Citibank Platinum with WWEDRCC and therefore all my Amex will go to KF and all my non-Amex go to QFF

never booked Qantas flights with this card believe it or not, since most flights go on the business credit card (Err... booked some Virgin flights on this Qantas card though he he), which raises a question, is there bonus points when booking Qantas flights on this card...? or a standard $1 : 1 pt

There are no bonus points for anything on this card, not even Qantas.

Has anyone had trouble making a Bpay payment via the Woolworth EDR card site? I haven't been able to do it since Monday. The help desk says there's nothing wrong and to try a different browser or computer. I did that and it still doesn't work.

Walter my smarter half put one through on the 3rd for 18k odd so it does work.

From memory, this card came on the market late October last year which makes the early one's that jumped on this card, only a few months away from their first anniversary with this card. Dare I say it but time to pay yet another annual fee...

So who here is going to be the first to ask for the annual fee to be waived...? Any predictions what the response will be for such a request...?

As a precedent, anybody ever threatened to cancel this card and been tempted to stay with a "special" deal...?

Thanks for the reminder. I need to cull out a few cards about now I think, so I can be clear and free for new card points season just after Xmas.

I don't have any other VISA/MC with 1:1 earn, so any threats from me (about leaving) would be pretty hollow. I don't think I'll bother. Its a cheap-n-cheerful earner.

Any predictions what the response will be for such a request...?

My prediction would be a solid no. They'd be well aware, I suspect, of how few 1:1 VISA/MC earners there are out in the local market, particularly at the low end.

Nup,I am hitting mine with taxes to get the $300 back about 10 times (or more) from missing a payment fee. The way I look at it the annual fee for last year became $389 when I missed a payment to zero by six days. 0.65 cents a point......makes a quick recovery.

New brochures in WW stores with an 8000 point bonus.

I've finally worked out that this card is for me, but do you reckon they'll give me the 16000 bonus if i ask for it?
Anyone had any luck doing this

I saw this 16000 offer earlier in the year, but my decision came maybe 2 weeks too late !

8,000 QFF for $89 is LAME in my opinion.....however for a 1:1 QFF direct sweep card you could do worse... :p

Hi I'm new to the site and can see that I have wasted so many points and opportunities and am eager to fix this. Assuming the erqcc is in credit and therefore not constrained by the cards credit limit, how much can be BPay'd in one go. Can you BPay to another CC from this account, and will it be treated as a purchase? Please excuse my ignorance.

Many card issuers don't like you BPAY excess funds onto your credit card. For most issuers putting a bit extra on (eg. maybe double or triple your credit limit) is OK (as long as you regularly spend to go under your credit limit) but it is not recommended.

Also you can not BPAY from one credit card to another. BPAY Billers get to decide whether to accept BPAY payments from Savings/Cheque accounts only or from both Savings/Cheque accounts & credit card accounts. Paying financial bills (eg. a credit card) can only be done from a Savings/Cheque account.

I joined when the offer had expired, but when I logged into ER, there was a link leading to the ERQCC application that also said it was offering 16k points. It was August 12th. So I took a screenshot to have some proof if they only gave me 8k.

Sure enough they only gave me 8k and I sent off a fiery email yday demanding the extra 8k with the screenshot attached. I'll keep you posted.
