I am confused re whether Dan Murphys is a part of the deal.

My email says so says so but Ive never seen any signage at my local Brisbane store re Woolies CC earning.

Does this apply to every state?

I've never got any EDR points from Dan Murphys and the staff deny you can earn points.

Dan Murphys (and Thomas Dux for that matter), are written into the T&C's of this promotion, so I say they'd be part of the promotion.

Dan Murphy has participated in promotions before. In tis case, it is a credt card promotion rather than through the EDR card.

I don't think this offer is targeted. The targeted offers usually have to be activated and the email says : this is for EDR card no 12345678 etc
They have probably realised that most of us use the card to scan the barcode and then swipe our Amex ;)

Same with me.

I swipe my EDR card and then use my Amex to pay.

Sorry, this is borderline OT here but I'd thought I would ask here as someone might know the answer...

Does anybody know if Woolworths Supermarkets and other stores in their group accept the Woolworths Everyday Money Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard® as shown here: -

https://www.everydaymoney.com.au/ed...DCws3S0MPA2DvPw93Q0NLSwM9YNT8_RzoxwVAYyGuzQ!/
I did hear that Woolies do not accept pre-paid cards any more, but this would be silly with such a card as this being branded as their own.
So the questions are, is this card accepted, and is it free of surcharges at the store...?
A friend of mine is interested in one of these and they can not get a standard credit card, I know there is no points earn on this card, my friend is simply looking for a card option to use at Woolworths without charges they currently get from using a visa debt card via eftpos

Again, sorry if this is borderline OT, please delete if necessary... :p

Re: Little something you need to be aware of!

I had a pretty bad experience with this card today. Here's what happened;

I had 11,500 on my last statement and I've paid 11,000 way before the due date and my next payment of the remaining amount I Bpay'ed it on the day before the due date. Unfortunately there had been a delay in processing this payment either from the bank's end or at the wooli's credit provider (HSBC)'s end to process this and my payment realised one working day late! So, we're talking $500 being late one business day due to a processing delay.

Guess what? I get charged interest for Last month $106 and this month $160. When I called them up they refused to accept that the delay was at their end and insists it's the bank! And explained how interest is charged on the FULL CLOSING BALANCE from day 1 regardless of how much you've already paid!

Basically I've paid $250+ for $500 for one day!! That's 50% per day interest effectively!

Because this CC has a third part credit operator (unlike a card supplied by a bank) So you have to be mindful to make your payment few days before the due date!

Cheers!!

It doesn't matter where the delay is - the payment has to be recognised on the date the funds were sent (assuming they made the cutoff time).

Your next step should be to confirm the date and time that they funds were sent from your bank, and whether they had made the cutoff.

Follow oz_mark's advice, and if you did make the cut off time for your bank I recommend you get in contact with BPay directly. I had a similar issue with HSBC once and made BPay aware of it. They contacted HSBC and fixed the issue. This seems to be a random problem with HSBC as it sometimes shows with the correct date of BPay payments and sometimes not.

Had the exact same problem (see other thread) however they did reverse the charges when I put up a fight. This card takes a very long time for bPay payments to credit and I'm sure they are not complying with their bPay requirements... but I guess you get what you pay for. I always make sure this card is paid off a week before it's due.

I applied for an increased credit limit after 6 months and got knocked back. I've just received an auto-generated invitation to increase my limit, a month after the knockback; granted, not for as large an amount. This card moves in mysterious ways.

I was given 20% increase in limit without requesting... Was your limit increase similar...?

Hi all

I'm new to this forum, I've read all through this thread, looks like there are plenty of knowledgeable people here. I applied for this card in July and got knocked back despite meeting all the requirements. What are people's thoughts on how long to leave between applications? The letter did say I can apply again in 3 months but I don't think too much would have changed in that time.

As for the suitability of the card, I've been tracking my spending over 6 months or so on a fee free card and I've determined that I would get more value back from the card than the annual fee. Any sign on bonus is just additional sweetener for me and the 1:1 earn rate is better than changing my Westpac card to an Earth one due to it being 1 point on the Amex and less on the other card.

Note: I'm not as big a spender as most others in here.

Also posted elsewhere here...

Perhaps slightly OT, however Important reminder to all...

This weekend Save 15c p/l off petrol when you spend $100 or more at Woolworths in one transaction this weekend or for most of us here that will work out to 7.5 QFF/l.

I would highly suggest that those doing a "big" spend over $200 this weekend, make sure you ask the attendant to split the transaction once the $100 total is reached. This will harvest multiple vouchers loaded on your EDR account. A further bonus is that if you use each voucher for filling two standard vehicles you will nett around 900 QFF...!

Remember vouchers last one month so may as well get 2 for a $200 spend rather than just one... :D

It has taken me a year but I just applied for a partner card to run off my EDR card. Two of us running off one card makes the $89 annual fee on this Woolworths card more valuable.

Yes cove, I did this some time ago, works well in my scenario as I harvest points from Mrs Shintaro shopping outings for no extra outlay...:p

Also having a second card holder was useful in my effort to get the annual fee waived :p:p:p

Simply told them that if they did not waive the fee, I'd cancel my account, Mrs Shintaro would sign up (currently $0 & 5,000 QFF), I'd then become the supplementary card holder on her account... How could they argue with that logic...!

Will try this again next year too if they have another $0 sign up...

Close -- mine was just over 30%.

Did this coincide with your 6 month anniversary of joining or at some other time.

I am wondering if i should wait or fill in another of their complicated forms - I am close to 6 months since signing up.

Or just wait.

your account must have been open for at least six (6) months and maintained in good order

It works fine and ironically gets processed as a credit card, I have one for use with the pay at pump facility.

I have just noticed I have a transaction that says

" interest for this statement cash" it is only for a couple of dollars but seems strange as I have never had a cash transaction.

Anyone else have this ?

Guess I will need to call them to find out why.
