Interestingly on the staff card you still get the 16k points if not a new member and a bonus (query if this means 23.5k) if you are transferring.

Very different to the public offer.

Will I get 16000 points if I transfer to the new Woolworths Qantas credit card and replace my existing card?
No, if you transfer to the new Woolworths Qantas credit card you will receive a bonus 7500 Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Is that what you meant?

Has anyone asked what constitutes a business expense as this card won't pay anything on them?
As a personal card it should do very well.
I have been using a point and a half Amex on supermarket and fuel already where there is no surcharge but for the many other living costs a point a dollar Mastercard will be the bees knees.

According to Schedule 2, Rewards terms and conditions, in the Conditions of use PDF:

business expenses means the ordinary and necessary expenses incurred in connection with a user’s business or trade.

.

It says that for your KF Card too...;)

I suspect it gives them an out if they find people are putting large $$$ through the card..

But then again as you know KF do not seem to mind.
Many other cards are capped in some way though.

Either way, that's more than the 5k "Loyalty Bonus" points you get after 450SC's when flying.

Anyone been approved yet?

I got the approval for my Wizard Mastercard in less than 24 hours, 48 hours and counting for this one, wonder what's taking them so long ...

Also interested to see what sort of a credit limit the card comes with. I plan on getting rid of my ANZ card (with a ~$10K) limit, but there was nowhere on the application to let them know this, nor to let them know that I'd like a comparable limit on this card before I can make the swap.

Well I applied yesterday. It was interesting that you don't get an e-mail confirmation. Slight problem with the employer verification (my employer uses 13 number for payroll checks).

I'm looking forward to getting this and then ringing ANZ and telling them thank you for cutting earning in half, I'm not cutting you althought:p

Nothing yet on approval (or even that they have the application) - which is standard HSBC and Woolies though.

No confirming email nor word of any sort re success of application for Mrs Paddy or me

Someone say typical woolies?

Paddy

I thought about it then applied for a card today.
There is no easy way to determine whether an expense is a business expense unless it is a substantial amount. Also under the Privacy Act the credit giver is limited to the questions they can ask.If you answer that it is a private expense they may not be able to ask a further question even if they might like to due to the privacy rules.
Once we are all part of hundreds of thousands of card holders I think the problem goes away.
$89 and 16000 points then a point per dollar on QF looks good.

Good point cove.

Now, combine that 16k points with the 50k FFP's QF was giving away a few months ago on new Qantas AMEX Plat Card sign ups, a few more big offers and you have a RTW 140k trip for free.

Yes if you get as badly hooked as me I will see you out there!
Unfortunately the next step is to J travel so you have to run those cards harder and harder. That is why I hesitated on that clause on no points for paying business expenses.
You'll never ever know if you dont give Woolies a go!
Any way everyone is a bit ticked with the big 4 banks so lets give HSBC a go.

I think this card is a great addition to the market, however don't get your hopes up about any of the banks upping their QFF earn rate for Visa/MC...

I believe that the only reason that Woolworths can afford to do the 1:1 is because of their everyday rewards program that is linked to this card - it is a great way to get more people to use it.

This is market research for a cheap price - the price of buying half a QFF point per dollar more than other card providers currently do...

If you think about it you are getting the benefit of the points, however Woolworths are getting the benefit of knowing that people who buy x on a regular basis very rarely buy y and when they do its in the small size etc etc.

The only cards that could possibly approach a 1 point per dollar rate would be the other platinum (or above) cards. Any card less would not likely have the fee income. Not only do the other platinum cards not offer 1:1 (Citibank aside), they also come at a significantly higher price than this card. Whether the other banks see a need to adjust their current offering remians to be seen, but I would think they would need to lose substantial numbers of customers for that to happen.

I wonder what the turnaround time will be - has anyone got their cards yet?

It will be interesting to see. I applied at 6:30 AM on the 1st November and have not heard anything yet. I suspect it will be next week or later for me.

Looks like I will have to give this a miss. I was hoping to get the card in time for my car insurance which expires on 11th Nov. Other than that and some other smaller purchases, I mainly charge my expenses to my Amex card. My existing NAB Visa Mini has no rewards program.

Sent off the application today -seems too good to be true, as is so much cheaper than the Citibank plat.
Still, will make the most of it at all of those pesky places that refuse to get with the program and accept Amex - at least until the the enhancements (a la the bank visa/mastercards) kick in!

Received an email saying I was approved and that a new card was being sent.
That was very quick!
