Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I just received my quarter statement from my EDR card - in it was a bonus 20,000 points to join up to Everyday rewards qantas credit card - there is still the annual fee of $89 which is a bit rich seem I have just gotten 30,000 on the Qantas Staff CU plat card and have got the 20,000 on the jetstar mastercard plat (will see how I go with the $5000 spend prior to 31 May for the extra 10000) - debating if it is worth it (will go read this thread in detail!!) - however the only good thing with it is, all I have to do is wait for the 20,000 to post then cancel the card.
 
To think I would've got more than a measly 5000 if I had just waited a few months to sign up! Whoops!

Yes heh, but I think the 5K deal was free entry? The 20K deal is 89$. Is 15K (extra) worth 89$ to you? I know it is for me, but everyone rates the value of their points differently.
 
Though not on the website yet, EDRCC now has a new design - silver instead of the current orange colour. It looks a lot better now.

Interesting. Do you mean platinum, reflecting the card's branding? :lol:
I've requested a new card today as I appear to have worn out the chip (ooops) so let's wait and see what colour it is.
 
Other card to look at is the QF Credit Union Card with 30k bonus sign up and the $195 fee is waved the first year too.

This looks like good value, 30k for no annual fee....

Initially I didn't think I'd qualify as not a Qantas staffer. I'm going to qualify for one for me for going to Avalon Airshow. I'll take Mrs Albatross 710 out tomorrow and she can watch a Qantas jet fly past our house. That should qualify her as well.

Yes it now looks like other banks' platinum card, in 'platinum' colour. Design remained unchanged.

I suppose your account is now blocked until you receive your new card? How long will that take?

I hope you don't have the same issues I had after a new card was issued - pay at pump at woolworths servo's dosent work correctly anymore

.... Gives discount over points, but scanned through the terminal inside the shop will give points.

Have called many times and given up.... useless 2nd/3rd level tech support.

They said it would not be blocked as the card number would be the same, and the PIN stays the same. I will find out next time I use it I guess.

I might have another crack at having this issue resolved - was genuinely dumbfounded as to how little knowledge 2nd/3rd tier support had over their own product (I lost track of how many times i had to explain how their product worked).

hopefully I can refer to the above FAQ and finally see this issue resolved.

I don't think they can mail out a credit card that doesn't need activation. Given that the number is the same, your old card shouldn't work now until you activate your card.

I used the old card this morning. It still works (as a Paypass card anyway).

My new card arrived today. It is the same card number, same expiry date, and same CCV code on the back (and same EDR number). The only difference is it is the new silver colour, with a new "valid from" date being 03/12.

I'm pretty impressed it arrived so quickly. I only called them Monday night.

Did you get the 1,000 bonus points credited to your account?
 
Really? It was on mine, saying that I'm one of the first few to receive the new design card, so I'm getting 1,000 bonus points. I don't expect it to be immediate so I'll be looking out for it in the next month or so.
