Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Surprised to have my B-Pay payment made yesterday (Last day to pay) appear on my QEDRCC account today, so B-Payments have certainly sped up on this card.

And I thought I was going to have a fight on my hands for a late payment, as has been discussed here in the past. Happy with the improvement made with this...

Edit: Payment showed up as being made yesterday (The day I instigated the B-Pay payment) So Payment shown as same day as payment request.

Part of the B-pay agreement is that payments are supposed to be backdated to when they are initiated. So what you mention should be normal. The only exception seems to be super payments with the super funds apparently forced to credit b-payments when received.

Last night I tried using a Coles Gift card to buy fuel at Coles Express service station seeing the price was 20 plus cents cheaper per Litre. Now it came up invalid so I won't try that again!
i bought a mixture of Woolies and Coles Gift cards through National Seniors on my Woolies Everyday Rewards credit card at $1,902 for $2000 face value by registered mail.
My conclusion is the Woolworths Wish Gift card is easiest to use at all of their satellite stores like Masters,DSE,Dans,Big W and Woolies Caltex.

Should work, the operator needs to process it differently, had it happen to me.

Went to Woolies to use an EDRCC purchased RACWA Essentials Gift Card and yes neither the person in front of me nor behind me was using such a card. Both were RAC members so I quickly educated them to teach Woolies to speed their check out lines up. That killed off the 5 minute wait time in the queue.
The rise of private label products makes me glad I am not a supplier of food to Woolies as the shelf space that used to "belong"to Mr Heinz and other major brands has severely diminished.

Glad to see you're more responsible than me by using the basics card cove, actually I am surprised that RACWA only sell the lite version of the wish card, would not be so attractive to me if the RAA started such things...

Shintaro10x I have wine stashes at every location and the only way I can get it reducing is by having a get together as we drink less now that I value my brain cells.
RACWA needs a phone call that is for sure.......
RACWA is super fast in delivery and National Seniors is super slow in delivery.....it takes 2 weeks!

cove, I am sure some members of this forum would be willing to help you with your wine problem :p

As I recall we might have shared a few glasses, or bottle or two in Melbourne a few years ago.

Why is this card so good when compared to the Coles Flybuys Master card...? Aren't Coles watching what the other mob are up too...?

20 months and counting with QEDRCC for a really easy 180k in QFF.... Coles, am I missing something...?

The QEDRCCis really good at a point a dollar on a MasterCard after a sign on bonus to get started and low annual fee. The changes in their letter to us could change things a bit but when you are on a winner then stick to it is what I am thinking. I use it for lots of personal stuff that the big four banks only offer half rate on so I am really chuffed about that.
If the CC company is paying 1 cent per point then your points have cost $1,800 plus admin costs.

Penegal yes parties are a pretty good way to move alcohol but once the first case of champagne has gone it tends to be more of the same. Its hard to get my crowd drinking what I need them to even when it's New Years eve.
Lucky good champagne pricing has been falling because of the Aussie dollar and Wish gift cards.
Tonight we go to the Olympics so I can get great Aussie wines in London at very reasonable prices.
I would not dare to use my Woolies credit card over there.

Have a great trip cove!

I believe a few other AFFers will be around London for the Olympics, plus our regular London residents.

Credit Card Reforms: Minimum Repayment Information on your Credit Card Statement

When you get your credit card statement it will now show how long it will take to pay off your debit and how much extra interest you will pay if you make the minimum repayments only.

Key points

  • Credit card statements will show the time it takes to pay off your balance and the total interest payable if only the minimum repayments are made.
  • This applies to all credit cards.

Not sure I believe the information QEDRCC are providing on their statements in line with the new guidelines set in place by the Australian Government, I beleive they are under quoting the cost of interest on this card, I may be wrong, however here are my reasons: -

  • QEDRCC Balance ~$5k - Minimum Repayment Warning ~20 years to pay off | Estimated total of ~$8k
  • ANZ Balance ~3k - Minimum Repayment Warning ~50 years to pay off | Estimated total "interest" of ~$13k

Question:

Why does it take 50 years to pay off $3k on ANZ, but QEDRCC card of a higher balance takes less than half that time...? Seems a big different here and I'm a tad confused to why...?

Edit: I pay balance at EOM so no issue for me, just wondering why such a big difference...

What are the minimum payments on the two cards. One may have a higher minimum which could have quite an impact.

Generally based on minimum monthly payments what are generally a combination of a base %'age of the total balance with a base minimum.

½% can make a big difference.

EDR is 2½%, ANZ is 2%

Fair enough I guess, but 30 "extra" years to pay off $2k less seems extreme
