Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I wonder if they are generous with the credit limit?

Look like some customers got their card in reasonably quick time, while some are neglected.

Received the card today, just called and activated so ready to claim my 16,000 points! :)

Maybe this has been answered elsewhere but why would I keep my current AMEX Qantas Premium Card ($195pa) when this one has a lower annual fee and will be accepted everywhere?

Amex generally has $1 = 1.5 FF , most visa/ MC 0.5 this card $1 = 1 FF . I think it fits pretty well as an alternative when Amex not accepted

What sort of limit did they give you...? 10%...? 20%...? of your income...? :?::?::?:

Even though mine is in the post and I'll know soon enough, I'm interested to know this as well. Hopefully they aren't too stingy ...

A bit less than 10% of my income, more than I need for this handy addition to my Earth Amex. I see it as a woolworths, petrol (especially with e pump) and non amex accepted alternative. Activation required a quick call to everyday money and the rest is done online. Looking forward to trying it out!

When I asked the person at the call centre if I could put a personal tax bill on the card I heard a gasp. She suggested that this card is for store purchases. As a result of that answer I thought I wouldnt ask any more questions.

She suggested that this card is for store purchases.

So its only a suggestion then he he :)

Great idea actually, I also have to throw quite a few buttons that way too, not sure it counts as a purchase though...!

Look like this card is just used for everyday purchases, and not for any high rollers, given the credit limit might not be that high (if someone suggested it is roughly 10% of income).

The most I'll use is probably to purchase a LED TV from David Jones or Myer. Nothing more from it.

I'll let my Westpac Kris Flyer card to do the bulk of earning points then.

I reckon it is enough for a typical cardholder assuming $5k minimum credit limit (based on 10% of $50k annual income requirement). Average cardholder will probably get $8k credit limit. Also, it would be reasonable to assume that AFF members who responded to this thread here always pay off their accounts in full each month which means that we are more flexible with cash flow than those who remain in rolling debt. This advantage will allow us to make repayments earlier to bring down the used limit so as to enable more purchases through the card (if required) to earn QFF points. A small price to pay for the benefit of 1QFF:$1.

I just got an email telling me all about it.
