Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

The most I'll use is probably to purchase a LED TV from David Jones or Myer. Nothing more from it.

.

You'd be better price matching Myers at D|ck Smiths using this card to take advantage of double dipping on QF FF points.

$2000 price = 2000 card points + $1950 edr ff points :-)

Btw - where are people seeing on the edr website that they have been approved ?

When you log in the home page has 2 subheadings the first is Princess Fiona's credit card, until today mine said pending CC application. Now says Princess Fiona's everyday credit card 1234xx_xx_5678

I applied on the 1st, and until just now my status has been "pending". But now it's "Your request can not be processed. Please try again later." I wonder if this is a good or a bad thing.

UPDATE: It's back to "Pending Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card Application", so maybe it was just a glitch.

Wow they gave you a really sequential number :p

Still waiting on any change here, other than initially seeing a pending notice, I don’t anymore.

I just check my EDR online account and I've been approved! YAY! 16000 points closer to our business return flight from Hawaii to Sydney! WOOHOO!

Why on Earth would you redeem points for this flight? The QF Business hard product is domestic. You'd be better to save the points and pay for Jet* "*class."

While it may not be a fantastic example of business class, the 767's that ply the route are in an international config.

I currently have a fee free Citibank Plat Visa card which earns 1 QF pt per $1 spent. The reward fee is currently $19 pa but this will increase to $49 at the next anniversary:evil:. Apart from the sign up bonus of 16K QF points with this new card, I really can't see what the benefit of me getting this new card is. I know this Woolies MC is uncapped in terms of points earnt and the Citibank Plat card is capped at 60000 pts pa (I think) - but there is no way I'll spend that much on my Visa per year. So is there any benefit whatsoever for me in getting this Wooliies MC:?:

The main benefit for you I can see is that it isn't issued by Citibank!

(I have a Citi Silver Visa which is getting the chop at renewal for this card)

It is quite possible that the answer to this question is no!
Touche...

To date, I have not had any major problems with Citibank so I can't remember the last time I had to call them. The majority of my credit card spend goes on the AMEx Plat and the Citibank is used when AMEX is not accepted.

Same as my setup, Amex is primary - Citi is a special kind useless anytime you try to call them plus the transfer rates and minimums are rubbish.

Just got a call from Woolies regarding my application, look like a very easy process. Just need to enter your own profession into their system and confirmed your annual income, and a few identity questions through the phone with the rep, then the computer will generate a credit limit. Automatic approval, surely the process is much easier than getting a CC from Westpac, where they have to analyse your tax return and stuff.

Now I just have to wait another 24 hours, then the process is done.

Any ID check, is done in the Woolies branch (been told by the phone rep), not in HSBC. Kind of weird!

I’ll have to keep my mobile by my side. Sounds easy enough, hopefully they call soon.

Not really - given the number of HSBC branches around is quite small.

Indeed - none in NSW outside Sydney from what I can tell, and generally only in capital cities Australia wide:

And from my own experience in my local branch, staff aren’t quick to want to do any work :p

So even if they had many branches, from my experiences of them I doubt they’d want to check ID’s
