Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

That happened to me quite a while ago, so I do wonder if I should be expecting a card or rejection letter, but they did say one or the other would come when submitting the application, so I’ll just wait.

If we get approved, they would have given us a credit card number in our EDR homepage. If it isn't given, you can probably guess the outcome.

Received my card today. Credit limit way above what I needed, will have to call them and get it lowered for safety sake.

Time to start accruing points :)

Would you mind me asking if they gave the option of providing recent payslips, or was it your suggestion to provide a copy of the tax assessment advice?

know.

Just a word of advise always blank out tax file numbers they can be used to commit serious frauds and should always be protected

Doesn’t really worry me. I have HK CC’s to use anyway, but was hoping they’d give me an Aussie CC for direct earning of points. Their loss, or perhaps not, as I’m a responsible person and don’t have debts, hence I’m not the money earner they want.

I was at Caltex/Woolworths today and looking at the epump machine, I couldn't see a barcode scanner. How do you claim your fuel discount through epump using the EDR Qantas CC?

I’ve always assumed you can’t, or it’s automatic somehow as it might be linked to the card.

Now that a number of you have your point a dollar card can you tell me what happens when you pay a tax bill on it for earning points? I thought I could let someone else be the "tester of the new card" to see if points are earned at the end of the monthly cycle.
Big Brother sees a lot of stuff but only if they decide to search from what I have heard.
That is why I put 7 Credit Cards down in my application.I need to let 3 expire,2 are for work and 2 are for personal use.
I kept those other cards just in case I lost my wallet while travelling to avoid my fear of getting stuck in the back of beyond with no cards that work.

I will be putting this to the test as soon as I activate the card today.

They asked for last years tax assessment copy as proof of income.
Go taxes Awilcockson .....keep Julia running for another day!
It will be very interesting if or how you work out what is a Business Expense if they try to disallow some payments for points earning. On 7 credit cards no one has done it to me so I am expecting all payments to earn points on this new card.

This looks really good. I've been looking for a replacement for my Virgin Flyer card, as Citibank's customer service makes me want to inflict serious pain on a brick wall.

Will continue to put my Amex MR points into Velocity but this is an offer good enough for me to switch teams to an extent.

I got severely p**sed off with Citibank and canceled both my wife's card and my card. Wife has a Suncorp Card which is also sponsored through Citibank so when it has a nil balance which is not far away I will be cancelling that as well.

Card activated, ready for use.

Hit the first snag though, it appears that you can't get a supplementary card! Which is a royal pain in the butt, as I not really keen on having to pay two annual fees just so that my wife can have a card as well (not to mention having the pain of two separate credit card accounts and a higher overall credit limit).

Hmm, was my plan to close an account and open one of these and get a supp card. Looks like my plan needs a rethink!

OK, just got off the phone with them.

The card does support the option of a supplementary card (at zero cost), BUT ...

You can currently only get a supp card if you apply with a paper application, it is not available online.

Apparently they are working on making a form available to apply for a supp card for those of us that applied online, supposedly due by the end of the month.

The only other option at the moment is to cancel the card I just received and re-apply with the paper application. What a balls-up.

Loving this card atm - the paypass is really quick for 7/11 purchases and enjoying double-dipping for 4 points per dollar with the QFF Restaurant Offer :)

Add me to another of those that has joined the exodus from Citibank - I can live with the .25 less points per dollar than the Citibusiness card to not have to deal with their call centre (and not to have to transfer in multiples of 10,000 to Qantas). The timing of the release of the Everyday Rewards card was perfect for me with the annual fee about to come due on the Citibank (and no efforts at all by them to offer a fee discount or any other inducement to stay).

Agreed, wasn't impressed either when activating the card this morning and getting this piece of news - but then again I guess my bank account will appreciate not being hit by my wife's spending for another month or so yet! :p

Well I've got a better plan anyway.

Going to apply for a card in my wife's name, get the 16K bonus points, then cancel the card and get a supp card off my account once they have the processes in place and we're sure we've got the bonus points. $89 for 16K points is pretty good value :)

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Agree, but sometimes it’s hard to understand tone of voice and such over the internet. On this site in particular, everyone has a different theory of the best use of points, but it’s generally to get the newest product in the air, so there was some shock that you’d want to go for an "older" product.

Wording is sometimes very hard ;)

Yeah yeah.. ok ok
But there's no point saving my points to fly somewhere I don't want to go.. We want to go to Hawaii and this is our only option to actually save a ****load of money on our tickets :D

If you are redeeming a business class flight, have you considered a redemption on QF (assuming they are available). For the same points, all other things being equal, I would go the QF option.

Hey Mark - I did try to get them, but unfortunately the QANTAS ones aren't available... it's what I wanted to get.. but yeah - no such luck! :(
