Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

My card arrived today - was generated on the 5th.

14% of income given as limit.

I got a call for a copy of my tax assessment for 2009 and some detail on existing credit cards so I have faxed the material to them.

I'm getting the following error, and have been for the last hour, when I attempt to log in on the EDR site:

Website is busy

Our website is currently busy as we are experiencing high volume of customers. We apologise for any inconvenience and encourage you to try again later.

Anyone else getting this?

From looking at the EDRCC site here creditcard.everydayrewards.com.au it is showing "Server Unavailable"

also everydayrewards.com.au/anon/auth/account/myaccount timing out here too...

Might be time they moved to a more robust server

Why on Earth would you redeem points for this flight? The QF Business hard product is domestic. You'd be better to save the points and pay for Jet* "*class."

Ummmm.. the flight is on a Jetstar flight.. and maybe we can't afford the business class on JQ, so that is why we're using the points? Don't be so assuming.

And hmmmm.. do I use my points to get $2100 worth of vouchers or $5500 worth of flights???? DIFFICULT DECISION!

I’m sure they were just trying to point out that the seats on that flight aren’t as great as say, the seats in an A380 (despite them being grounded). I’m sure offence was not intended.

Perhaps not, but the fact is, that the way it was said, was just plain rude

Would you mind me asking if they gave the option of providing recent payslips, or was it your suggestion to provide a copy of the tax assessment advice?

I'm thinking about applying for this card, but have only ever provided copies of payslips, regarding credit in the past. Just interested to know.

Agree, but sometimes it’s hard to understand tone of voice and such over the internet. On this site in particular, everyone has a different theory of the best use of points, but it’s generally to get the newest product in the air, so there was some shock that you’d want to go for an "older" product.

Wording is sometimes very hard ;)

If you are redeeming a business class flight, have you considered a redemption on QF (assuming they are available). For the same points, all other things being equal, I would go the QF option.

Mine arrived today - generated on 8th. :)
Strangely no emails or checking that I could see. It just arrived

Mrs Paddy applied the morning after me and her status still shown as "application pending" Not sure what is happening there.

Likely based on the information given and the credit score of the applicant - some people get instant approval (eg yours and mine) whilst others may need to provide more info (Mrs Paddy)

My "application pending" status in the EDR homepage has been removed, not sure if it has been rejected or not.

The communication of status by Woolie is quite poor, got to admit.

When I asked the person at the call centre if I could put a personal tax bill on the card I heard a gasp. She suggested that this card is for store purchases. As a result of that answer I thought I wouldnt ask any more questions.

Shhhhh :)

I plan on doing exactly this, just hope the card turns up before the payment deadline ...

My plans also, have been looking for a card to pay uncomming payment.

Did you have a status update on EDR prior to getting your card? It's end of business day 5 for me and still nothing on my EDR. I've just dropped them an email to inquire.

That happened to me quite a while ago, so I do wonder if I should be expecting a card or rejection letter, but they did say one or the other would come when submitting the application, so I’ll just wait.

A couple more questions today relating to a tax assessment copy and numbers of credit cards so mine is still pending.
Better to tell all than hide stuff because Big Brother sees all etc.

If Big Brother sees all, why does he need you to tell him? :p
