Experience on using priority pass at cafe/bar

I use this 2-3 times a week. Occasionally I’ll add a guest and nobody has ever asked to see the person (or a boarding pass).

For anyone else wondering; I didn't have any trouble using my guest pass. I was even prompted to when clearly alone haha

I've seen reports on Whirlpool that for restaurants/cafes there is a limit of 1 'swipe/scan' per 3 hours. Anyone know if this is the arrangement for PP via Citi Prestige (which has unlimited visits for cardholder + 1 guest)?

the reference in Whirlpool relates to 3 hours between swipes at the same venue. Unlikely, they will allow you to just create unlimited separate orders upto $36 and paid via PP. Would enable you to feed the entire airport at no cost to you.

You can however, move from 1 venue to the other and use your benefit assuming there is more than 1 available. If you wanted to repeat this then as above wait 3 hours.

To clarify, my question is about using it at the same venue.

Using the same venue will prompt a “already scanned” message on the machine. There’s an option to “rescan” or something like that. One place at Sydney (the beer bar at the jetstar terminal) were a bit confused but just pressed rescan and ran with it. No idea if they got their money or not….

The Peroni bar at T1 very explicitly said “one use and one use only”.

I think that would be ripping the cough out of it really. You could just cruise all the venues and not risk a double charge.
As an aside, I am pleased to learn that my Prestige 2-person PP can be used at multiple venues on the same night at MEL.
In fact, I accidentally attended a "non-PP" venue at MEL in June and they accepted my card - in other words they were an unlisted PP cafe.
I see on the PP app that there are now 4 cafes and 3 lounges. Great news.

We are flying out of MEL in 2 weeks - we shall get food in one, then go to another for a $36 per glass wine.

Actually, no we won't.
We will get a decent "non-lounge" supper at ONE venue for $72 and then go to the lounge.
Cafe surfing is un-Australian!
