Should you join the FF programme before sending request for status match or if accepted EY will join you up as part of the approval process?

Was re-matched back to Gold in previous EY offer 2014. I had dropped to silver by time of offer. That (re-matched) offer was based on: 2 X J X R/T travel with other GCC airlines. I had flown 1 X JR/T X WY + 1 X JR/T X QR during the qualifying period and upgraded, or, "re-matched"?. cheers, PJ

The offer has closed now. Just tried for the match and got a reply noting the bad news (for me). Should have applied sooner!

I applied on the 12th ( and resent it yesterday) to which I got the Promotion over email... Which I forwarded my original email to Etihad Guest Enquiries..
Usually I wouldn't bother but considering I applied initially in the timeframe, may as well try...
