Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Arrived back in BNE the day the 2nd cricket test finished a couple of weeks ago and was walking up the travellator to the Airtrain when I sort of recognised someone and thought to myself "that looks a lot like Mark Nicholas the cricket commentator". And it was Mark Nicholas with Shane Warne next to him and another 2 people with them I could not recognise.

Mark Nicholas was impeccably dressed in a suit and Shane Warne in t-shirt, shorts and thongs. :-|

My son had a quick play with Kate Winslet and her son on the EK407 tonight. She of course was on the upper deck!

My partner informed me that we sat across from "The Bachelor" and his partner on Tuesday on a VA ATR from CBR-SYD. We were 17D/F and they were 17A/C. I had no idea who they were until I googled when we got home. They were using their phones during taxi (not in flight mode) and quickly hiding them whenever cabin crew walked past.

In November I flew LAX-SYD in QF F. I was 5A and Wil Anderson was in 4A. He seemed quite pleasant.

This reminded me of a flight I took from Bangalore to Mumbai back in Dec 2001. Friend and I had been to the England - India test in Bangalore and were flying back to Mumbai to spend Christmas with family and we were on the same flight as the England team, along with the whole Sky & Channel 4 entourage (C4 had the TV rights in the UK back then). They were all transiting through BOM and back to the UK that night.

Flight was delayed as we were boarding, so we were chatting to Ian Botham and David Gower at the gate, and ended up sat next to Craig White who had scored a ton in the previous test and won MotM. All of the England team, plus all of the Sky & Channel 4 crew were in economy... except Mark Nicholas. He was the C4 coverage anchor at the time, and even back then (as now) took himself very seriously...

Saw Miriam Margoyles yesterday in the QF Business lounge at SYD. Only a glimpse though, as she wasn't on my flight.

English one day team in Qantas Club Sydney. Grabbed this quick shot of a couple of them.

Shaun Micallef on QF449 on Tuesday in 1A with his wife. He was furiously jotting down notes on a notepad- I'm guessing skit ideas? I don't think he and his wife said a word to each other the entire flight

WOW Have they updated the Sydney Lounge LOL

These were the stragglers. The rest had already entered the lounge which is just on their right.

The guy with the dark blazer and red tie is a player if you enlarge. I've taken the photo from Gate 6 waiting to board and looked across to the club. There are two walking ahead of him also but one is blocked from view by the other player. The rest were already in the lounge.
