Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

And they keep coming.Gary Mehigan on QF 61.He in row 5 me in row 6 across the aisle.
First time for him in Japan so I passed on a couple of AFF tips.

Aussie actor Chris Hemsworrh heading to LAX ex BNE on QF today.

Saw Bob Ansett also flying BNE/LAX last month.

Some ppl may remember the 'Why (Bob) Ansett flies TAA' ads in the early 80s. Ansett also flies Qantas. :p

Andy Kent from You Am I was just in the Sydney QC. For someone who spent their 20s living in inner west Sydney this was a big deal!! :)

I spent my 20s in inner west Sydney and have no idea of who he is.But then that was the 60s/70s.:lol:

Sorry forgot to add "during the 1990s". Many a late night down the Annandale Hotel back then ... You Am I, Mother Hubbard, the Whitlams. Those were the days :)

In QF F lounge. Was put off initially with the sight of Geoffrey Edelstone looking pretty disorganised with his bag open and stuff spread out everywhere

However now having eggs benedict for brekky with Toni Collette sitting on table next to me :)
A million per cent improvement.

Just back from a week in the US. LAX-DFW in First, Ms Shirley MacLaine was in the seat in front of me. Then, DFW-LGA she was two rows in front. And, there she was again at the Hilton on 6th Avenue. On the return, at LGA waiting in the Admirals Club for LGA-CLT, Tom Hanks was chilling between scenes of his latest movie. Then, at LAX Saturday night prior to boarding QF94, Robbie Williams was in front of me in the Qantas First Lounge. Outside of lounges, in NYC, I saw Barack Obama in his secure limo with his motorcade drove down 6th Avenue, smiling and waving at people as they clapped.IMG_0857.jpg

Saw Amanda Vanstone waddling around BA F lounge Terminal 5. Heard her get paged and just saw them wheeling her out in a wheelchair to her gate. Both the wheelchair and wheelchair pusher were straining.

Not flying but I keep hearing of "Senator Mitch Fifield" and remembering we were in the same Venturer unit back in the early 80s. He looks like he's been feeding in a better paddock than me since then - he was as skinny as a rake back then.

Jeremy Renner at the LAX DL lounge on Oct 4th.

Dan Aykroyd was staying at the Wynn Tower Suites in Vegas while we were also there last week and spent a bit of time relaxing in the Tower Suites lounge. I left him alone but some other people in my group had a chat and a photo with him - they said he was very friendly.

Recent MEL-BNE on QF, was in 4C, 4B vacancy held until the last minute when a man in a suit who was almost certainly Brendan Nelson occupied it. He was nice and polite in the couple of brief exchanges we had, and spent the trip working, then reading a book. Tougher man than me, it was reasonably warm on the plane but his suit jacket stayed on the entire time.

Mitch is a ok guy, I know him professionally and semi-socially. All federal MPs are automatically CL so he would know that awful pea green aesthetic well.
