re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

Dont wait on this people!!

I bet it's gone by 5pm!

I'm looking at RGN-xSGN-ZRH-xSIN-RGN in September and October and it's allowing me to go all the way through to inputting passenger names. Fare is USD559 return.

Yes, I can still access the booking site engine but stopped at putting in Passenger names.
The Burma thing is putting me off a little bit as I'm not quite the intrepid traveller I'd like to think
I did show the screen shots to my eldest daughter who is currently screaming "Just book it !!"

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

I have SIA Y flights MEL-SIN-CDG already booked ages ago for September 2012.

The YGN-SIN-CDG J return flights are a whole $600 each (on the same flights I have the SIN-CDG Y tickets booked).

Can I/should I do anything??

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

I was getting the error message too but I think the server was timing out. I tried again a few minutes later and all was good.

Yes, I ended up trying again with a new browser a bit later and I managed to book 3 tickets successfully. I booked around 4pm so seems still all good.

I just booked myself a ticket :) RGN-xSIN-CDG return, $715USD a/i.

Quick visit to London really but wanted to avoid the LHR APD :)

Well, the credit card I used for the booking (which I otherwise haven't used in several weeks) has a transaction pending for, round figures, what I paid for the fare.

Somewhere in SQ headquarters, the sales exec for Burma is wondering why all of a sudden he/she is doing a great job!

This is exactly what's happening in our household. Mr Doe is a little concerned about the "Burma thing" too.

Maybe they mistakenly used the official exchange rate of about 1 to 6.5 instead of the "black market" exchange rate of about 1 to 800.

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

Can someone confirm that MI 517 SIN-RGN .... does the quick 45 min turn around, and departs as MI 518 RGN-SIN.

I'm trying to do a double reservation so when I land in RGN I can just fly back out....

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

I think they've pulled it guys - I'm getting no flights on the searches that worked an hour ago!

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

I think the fare might be gone! :(

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

At a later date can you cancel the YGN-SIN leg and keep the SIN-ZHR leg? Surely other than an admin change fee they could'nt charge you more for cancelling/forfeiting part of the trip?

No the fare would be re-assessed as being ex-SIN and you will pay normal business class fares. simply not possible.

Could you post the Ts and Cs on the eticket. Ta!

Done.

Assuming the fare is honoured, it's only USD100 per passenger for an otherwise full refund. I'll worry about the details later.

I actually eventually realised if I could cancel this fare (which I think I can) I could rebook YGN - CDG then CDG - YGN and YGN-MEL all for very cheap J - all I would have to do is get myself to YGN.

I said it would be pulled by 5pm!!

Some interesting information on Flyertalk here from an Australian resident who very recently lodged a claim with the Office of Fair Trading after a Czech Airlines fare mistake. See posts 727 and 731.

re: [fare gone] Yangon to New York, London etc. R/T in C < $800

Thanks Danger! I can't get the fares anymore...I have been procrastinating the last 2 hours as I cannot find a timeframe in the next 12 months to go...all my international travel for the next 12 months has been already booked :(

Thanks brads92 for sharing. Booked to EWR for 2. Have eticket receipts and credit card notification from Citibank, but now to wait for that call or email around honoring the booking ......
