The menu has some nice sounding food. Although, when I was in China they called it Beijing Duck. :) It was everything it was quacked up to be.

I'll be travelling down on the SQ flight & staying at Hilton on Saturday.

I like that plan but what if QF8 is QFlate?

FWIW I've done the QF8 thing a couple of times & have lost lounge time, every time....for such a short connection time & given the special events associated with this Flounge visit - I would recommend a DOM connection with bus ride.

I hate to put the pox on anyone......it appears a great show & it would be a shame to miss the main event.

I have been on QF8 a number of times most flights have been on time and the only one that interfered with connecting flights was last December AFF Xmas do. Yes they rebooked flights and did cut into Flounge time.

I did want to join the Friday night drinks but am unable to get away till Sat.


MissBurrill If you choose QF8 I am happy to guest you in BNE Flounge or EK lounge if they allow me in.

Jess, we booked for 20-25 right...? so any more we need to revise our booking,. which I imagine won't be a problem unless we get more than 50 pax :D

We booked for 25, and seeing we are now there I will ring them during the week and bump it up to 30. Many more than that and we may have to consider the whole restaurant!
 
I am now confirmed on the last flight from SIN through to SYD. Seats unassigned at the moment. Will be in J

Some mixed reviews on the service.. Hope the food is more consistent :shock:

The first time I ate there I was looking for the poor service. The owner even had the chef prepare a Sichuan fish dish (off menu) for us...

The second time I ate there I was looking for the poor service. The owner didn't recognise me - does that count?

The third time I ate there, I wasn't expecting poor service - the owner recognised me :shock: - the fact that he didn't recognise me round 2 makes this poor service!

I'm looking forward to the fourth time... the food is great without the price tag
