Still hoping for an op-up from QF for this epic event :D

JASA's on QF81 are 26,225 cheaper now than 1 month ago... but still 29,621 more expensive than I paid 5 weeks ago :lol:

Looking forward to a comfortable ride home (to sober up) after my first visit to the SYD Flounge

Aren't you notified immediately of the upgrade?

Aren't you notified immediately of the upgrade?

It depends. In general, not for international flights. These are processed a few days before the flight. However, it appears that QF81 is being treated as a domestic flight on this leg, hardly surprising as it is a domestic flight. If there is U availability for domestic flights the upgrade is confirmed immediately.

That's a big hope with the number of people who've asked for paid upgrades. Still always good to have hope. :)

Still I paid for my upgrade, so given my luck a heap of op-ups are likely.

why would there be a need for op-ups on this flight...? Most of my flying on this bird has been when she is half empty

Given the number for requests for upgrades with points I don't think there will be any room for any op-ups!

and if I can count correctly there is 31 of us so we wouldn't fit anyway :(

Sorry people, looks like I'll need to cancel.

Now heading over to China on the 8th or 9th, and not back until May 1. :(

Was looking forward to meeting a number of the gregarious reprobates, but I guess that will have to wait for another time...

Flying from ADL to SYD next month, whats the process for checking in for QF81...? Only time I ever got on this flight was from HKG to ADL via SYD, but this was many years ago and was also after arriving into SYD on an international flight and jumping on this bird to get to ADL, hence did not clear customs in SYD so was just transiting through...

Whats the process once I arrive domestic in SYD and catch the bus to the international terminal...? Is it possible to OLCI for QF81...?

I would expect OLCI is available. Failing that they should be able to check you in for QF81 when you check in for the domestic flight in ADL.

Thanks, but I'm guessing that I will have to get a boarding pass from an actual check-in desk either here or in SYD, something about a "D" sticker on my boarding pass from some reading I have done on here...but is this still current...? or can I just print my own at the self serve machines at the airport, or do I have to front up to the desk...?

ta

Edit, so much easier to get QF81 to come to me than to go to it in SYD....but I guess the things we do to get Flounge access ;)

D stickers are relatively easy to get. ;) As long as you get a BP. Either at the ADL QP or the SYD T3 transfer desk.
