Ok, there are 19 for the bus, final word. going, going, ......

FrankC is the only bus person not staying at the Hilton. Where are you staying FrankC? Are you happy to be dropped at the Hilton?

Hi Medhead I am guesting FrankC into the F lounge and Hilton lounge so it should be ok

Cool, Thanks.

I'm not sure what I'm doing but will get the bus to the Hilton. I'm considering going home and then coming back, so I can drop him off on the way, if needed.

Thanks for looking out for me
As with limited funds, I'll most likely staying at YHA *embarrassed*
But at least, I've got the priority right on where to spend the $ - to get into the F lounge when I have the chance :D

I've fixed that for you. I'm sure we all do things to save some cash and make sure priorities are right.

I didn't realise there was a YHA in Adelaide.

I've stayed there previously (in the 90's) and it was ok.
Adelaide Central YHA | Backpackers | Hostel | YHA Australia

actually, more recently it is not too shabby and great social atmosphere IIRC. And within staggering/crawling distance of the Hilton. ADL has a lack of budget accommodation, unlike other capital cities that at least have some examples of IBIS Budget or Formula 1 despite the average city hotel cost being generally higher

And the longer you spend in the Flounge, the less you will care about where to stay! :)

Well by the time we get to ADL FrankC might need a top up in the Jlounge I reckon, just to make sure ;)

As part of the advance committee who explored the F lounge, QF81 and Hilton Adelaide on this past weekend I am pleased to report that it all met my approval (apart from the feta, egg and lettuce sandwich on QF81 which was inedible - fortunately I was full of omelette, sweet corn fritters and champagne). The King Junior Suite was also very comfortable:

A new bar has also opened at Hilton Adelaide which serves up some delicious coughtails. It also has a very impressive Gin list (among other spirits). A few sample shots from the menu:

I will no doubt be trying one or more drinks here upon arrival and/or after dinner :)

I applaud your selflessness for taking one for the team.

Well it looks like the interest is spreading. My mother will be joining us for dinner in ADL (an ADL resident), as I will otherwise not get to see her.

I was speaking to a friend of mine in Perth last night, and she is heading to ADL that weekend. I awake this morning to find that she has now booked to SYD on Friday arvo to pick up QF81 on Saturday. (A classic award seat - I must speak to her about that). That means we are one more for the Flounge and the bus on Saturday, and two extra for dinner. Fortunately we still have capacity.

So now I have a +1 and a +2!

Ok the bus is booked and I actually went for a slightly smaller bus. But there is space for your friend. The cost is $5 per person. $100 total.

Jessica, please let me know if you want me to poke my head into Wah Hing next week to confirm anything, I know you have spoken to them on the phone, but I am available to call in if we have any last min requests... Just let me know

Also whats the agenda for after dinner, we all kicking off somewhere for post dinner drinks, or just hanging around at the Hilton...? Sadly I don't get to drink Markis10's minibar :(, but happy to kick on for a while somewhere...

Thanks medhead; by my count we are 20 for the bus. Are we at capacity? I have a backup plan to get to the Hilton if you need a seat.

Friday night drinks, Flounge drinks, ADL QP drinks, pre-dinner drinks, post-dinner drinks...my liver is going to go into shock!!! ;)

I have spoken with Wah Hing and confirmed dinner for 30 (26 on the spreadsheet gives us a little wiggle room).

As to after dinner drinks, it will depend on how many would like to carry on. (A few of us will need to rise early for QF82). I suggest the term "wing it" be used liberally on the night! Being a Saturday night there will be heaps of places open (contrary to popular opinion).

Are you guys going to post as you go? I'm going to miss this venture.

I'm pretty sure we ended up with the 21 seat bus. There is also a 22 and 24 seat option. So we have one spare seat. I did not book the trailer, as I'm assuming we're hand luggage only and all travelling light.

I'm sure if we need it will be a simple matter to amend the booking for a bigger bus.
