Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat 13 -Sun 14 April]

I will be checking out & heading to airport at around 1pm to see if I can fly ahead on VA at around 3pm to SYD . If an AFF'ers are still around and want to share a taxi just PM me .
 
HVR and I are on the way to the airport now

Hilton check out was rather slow with about 10-12 in the queue

Apologies to those I did not meet or catch up with. Next time ;)

Received a text from QF on our way to ADL this morning advising our flight to MEL is delayed.
Got to the airport to find a crowd at the service desk so went straight to the lounge where the great staff tried to get us on an earlier flight via SYD to CBR.
But, I wasn't keen to get a downgrade on the last sector to Y on a Dash 8 :shock:.
So we will keep the original routing and our flight now leaves 2 1/2 hrs late at 14:15 and we will arrive in CBR 3 1/2 hrs later. All in J though (JASA).
At least we get a $25 meal voucher so we have lunch to look forward to. Mr Fifa is checking out the options in the terminal atm.

Oh, I don't like the sound of a challenging time. Glad it worked out.

I hope we didn't leave you behind from the bus or something. My memory is shocking in that regard. ;)
 
It was lovely to meet 4 of the participants of this event, JessicaTam, Heleigh, mickeyc747 and lowjhg, in the SYD T3 J lounge on their way home. Thanks for guesting me into the lounge lowjhg and thanks for keeping me company JessicaTam until it was time to head over to T2.

Having a drink at the Taphouse now. Off to my awaiting Tiger chariot back to BNE. Boarding time has come and gone with only "GO TO GATE" displayed. Don't want to be offloaded this flight. ;)
 
Deodorant , Mr taxi driver .... Here let me spray some on you . Just totally unacceptable .

Fly ahead all sorted Now on VA427 @ 15.15. BP shows fare class of Y , booked Saver , so hopefully 20 SC instead of 10 ;-) in the lounge now and able to guest 1 if anyone is flying VA. Just PM me.
 
After 12 months as a WP I have received my first op-up. Yes, the beep at the gate. And that was after the lounge angel kindly moved me from 5D to 4D. Now I am in 1A. After the most amazing weekend of flights, dinners and spending time with a crazy group of AFFers, this was the flight for it to happen on. A great way to end a fabulous weekend.

Well deserved and well done Jessica, you did an excellent job planning such a successful event

To Jessica Tam who organised this trip .
And those of you who travelled and thought it was hip.

I’d like to say on behalf of us all on this journey boon.
If it started Friday night and end Sunday noon.

It was nothing short of amazing for AFF’s to start thejourney in the F Lounge for QF 81.
Everyone was entertained before we boarded wether seated in row 50 or back to row 1.

Boarding the flight at the gate.
To Qantas premium boarding worked as no one was late

Again the great Jessica took control.
Not being seated till the aircraft roll.

Arriving in Adelaide for a photo stop.
Who told customs to take a hop.

We are AFF’s we know a lot about aviation.
Photos were done customs was cleared of the QP for more drinks to stop dehydration.

After that it was the bus to Hilton for the night.
Saw some blue members upgraded to executive up on height.

Drinks in the executive lounge did flow
Not as fast as the Taittinger that morning although.

Dinner was great and the food divine.
Could only manage one bottle of wine.

So back to the Hilton for some quick drinks
Before those of us who had QF 82 and more hijinks.

So today Sunday at 6 only 4 people in a cab to the ADL
Checked in at the QP it was quick and they excel.

Princess K got an op up to J
The rest of us cheered her luck as were all in the same cabin today.

We scoured the cabin for PJs and found one pair for ourSilver member
After that we asked the crew and they said sure for AFF you made this sector one to remember

Landed in Sydney and went to the J lounge where we meetJohn K
As nice as it was meet someone new my QF to OOL wascalling me away

That is my summary of a fantastic trip meeting greatpeople everyday
So to Jessica Tam hip hip hooray.

Good to hear all the op-ups received and my presence did not inconvenience anyone's trips back home.
