After 12 months as a WP I have received my first op-up. Yes, the beep at the gate. And that was after the lounge angel kindly moved me from 5D to 4D. Now I am in 1A. After the most amazing weekend of flights, dinners and spending time with a crazy group of AFFers, this was the flight for it to happen on. A great way to end a fabulous weekend.

*happy 'dancing a jig' face*

Aaahhh, they must have known you'd been travelling with me -I'm a Silver Frequent Flyer, you know ;)

Jessica, I would like a copy of the Flounge menu you had signed by everybody, any chance you can get this scanned and send me a copy...? I would like a copy as a memento for my first Flounge visit with you all.... What a great day, not sure how I / we can thank you enough Jessica... Looking forward to the next meet soon

Me too, please?

Well I can't beat mickeyc747's dissertation, so just a big thanks Jessica for a fantastic weekend. Great work and we enjoyed meeting everyone.
Just checked in to Links Lady Bay | Best Resort Golf Course in S.A. - Links Lady Bay | Superior Holiday Accommodation. Hotel. Golf. Conferences. Real Estate for a couple of days relaxation. No booze today said I, so promptly had a Chardonnay with the King George Whiting for lunch.

The Jetty Cafe at Normanville for a bite to eat was idyllic - right on the water - sun on the back and yes, also enjoyed that King George Whiting and Chardonnay! Not sure how pleasant it would be on a wet and windy day though!

ATC holding us on the ground . Lets hope it's not too long

Edit : spoke to soon , pushing back only 10 mins late .

Such a nostalgic sounding journey. Thanks for sharing. So sad to see the end of our countries international carrier.

Had a great day today exploring McLaren Vale.

My credit card took a hit though. I have 24 bottles of wine and 6 bottles of "grapple cider" heading to my house along with two bottles of a spectacular Wirra Wirra Patritti single vineyard Shiraz that I have with me :)

Now comfortably ensconced in the ADL Qantas Club waiting for my flight.

Spotted those wonderful 'McLaren Vale' signs a couple of hours ago - NO!!! NO!!! says the car - we're going to the right - towards the Fleurieu Peninsula!! A visit there on Tuesday will do us just nicely though.

Normy is a very relaxed part of SA. There is a very nice Bakery on the main street, I highly recommend.

If you're feeling adventurous you can drive over the Myponga Reservoir.

On topic: As someone who was going to join the trip and had to drop out, I'm very envious after reading this thread.

Mrs Paddy & I also went down to McLaren Vale, to Wirra Wirra and to Glenelg on the way back - great day, great weekend and good to recognise a few AFFers in the ADL QP.
The 738 on the way back - not a patch on the A330 I'm afraid, but home on time so won't complain.
Feeling a little sleepy at the moment

WTF! You got entree. Alls I got offer was pie or salmon salad. And what was the main? Where we on the same flight?

What he said.... I had the pie which was ok, but no entree... Medhead, perhaps us on the starboard side were discriminated as such

I made up for it with the free flowing bubbles onboard, sans entree
