Final flights for the B767

What about points+pay or a flat out award seat (I know the QF "taxes" are a killer) for one way or both?

Has been zero'd out for days (at least) I wonder if QF specifically will have their load of corporate types, invitees etc on board, media too probably and people like the AusBT competition winners and so on.

There is a 767 on next Tuesday, the 23 Dec 14 at 6am!
I have crossed my paws and just hope the powers that be, will not do that swap on this one.
If I miss this one on the 23, thats it, I have given up.
Lucky I am sitting on 41,000 QF gold bits, 12,000 ADL to SYD, stopovernight, then 8,000 SYD to MEL, then VA back to ADL.
Pity RedRoo is on annual leave, or I would have pleaded with him/her (lets just be civil to say that him/her), to keep the 767 on the 23.
But, so be it, if it becomes a 330 or 737.
Whine turned off. now, till Tuesday next week.
Edit: RichardMEL, if you have 20,000 QF gold bits, or QF FF points, that 23 767 flight could be one of your bucket list to do list too, just have to pay the taxes.
Granted though a lot of people will still be working that day. Would need an overnight stay in SYD of course.
As of now, there are still reward seats in Y on the 6am or 7am on the 23 Dec.

My paws crossed that you get your final QF 767 ride

Thanks for the suggestion. I am crossing my kitty's paws (luckily she likes me) that the flight I have on Sunday SYD-MEL, with an assignment for 1A on the single row of J holds for a comfortable ride in a nice cabin to toast the old girl....
else it may well be something else

or I win the competition AHAHAHA (NOT!)

but so far so good for my Sunday flight. will see what happens and hopefully report how many golds clog up the PB lane in Syd :D :D :D

So long as we understand the code words, your seats might have to be changed for operational or for security reasons or words to that effect. Or similar.
That and the thank you for taking your seats so promptly..., or the emergency exit door dance.
Flights (changes) might have to be cancelled ala REX, I haven't flown them, that Tiger Air, no matter how cheap Tiger fares can be.
As an aside: I tried to play with a real furry cat once, no, not the human variety, a real cat, not being forceful or anything, snap, the thing bit me, and scratched too.
Tom, as cats are wont of doing, they can turn their ears around, without turning their heads around, I am sure that QF will do swap, ... ... luck is never on my side these days.
Sorry for the yak.

Hopefully second time lucky for you.

I will be doing a day return SYD-MEL-SYD on 27 Dec.

QF 435 (767 operated) at 1pm down to Melb, then returning to Syd on QF767 at 5pm. The last departure and arrival into Sydney and Melbourne for the 767, it is a plane I will definitely miss.

Happy to guest a +1 into the QP at either end.

Conversely, if there are any generous WP's out there (or CL?? :p) then I am all ears ;)

I have two guest spots to the J Lounge at MEL. You can have one if you would like.

Hopefully they will look kindly on all of us "colleagues" chasing that final goal.
And not do a swap/substitute.
Guess the 27 Dec will be more important than my 23 Dec though.
Edit: going a bit off topic/thread, there is about 370 or more replies to the post, if someone at QF had some time to notice and deduce, they will note that people still support and want to fly the 767.
Would have been nice if the "deadline" was extended into maybe even Jul 14.
There was a kid on the retro 737, about 6 or 7 or 8, was a boy, and even he was saying that the retro 737 on that Wed was supposed to be the last 767 out of ADL.
I think his mum booked the flight as a special for the kid, he even told the FA that that flight he, Jessica and her mum & I and the rest on the passengers were on, was supposed to be a 767!
I didn't coach the lad.
I was seated behind him, so he couldn't see me, and the FA was shocked the boy knew it.
I wanted to enlenghten the conversation.

That's a nice farewell day you have there! Did you purchase th QF767 as a revenue ticket, or get it when it was just the 5pm service, or make a special arrangement to get on that last flight? I admit to a bit of envy there but half your luck.

I hope you have a fantastic time sending her 'off.

That would be fantastic, thank you so much. Should I PM you my number/email on the day?

Good question. I booked QF490 (I think) MEL-SYD when it was originally the 8pm service as a red-e-deal (also at the time I was entitled to a double SC promotion - an extra 5SC is better than nothing :)). This was when the initial last 767 flight schedule was announced. I then opted to change my flight when the departure time for the final service was moved to 5pm.

The flight down I only confirmed last week and booked as a Flexi Saver as the SC/$ ratio worked out better than booking as a red-e-deal. Figured if I am to make a day of it, and with no other commitments lined up (maybe that's a bit sad? haha), then I want to maximise my last 767 experience.

The QF 767 brings back many great memories. It was the aircraft where I had my first coughpit tour as a younger, much chubbier kid, on the old QF123 to Singapore (that continued onto Mumbai). It brought me home from an exchange homestay in Japan (NRT-CNS-BNE-SYD, following a JL connection from CTS). Also was the aircraft that I travelled on to CNS and OOL for the first time. Vail 767, you will be missed!

What are everybody's thoughts on post flight drinks in the J Lounge/Rydges Sydney Airport?

Something something runway view bar.

Surprised and happy to report my 73H flightto SYD has been upguaged to a.. yep 763 :) prob same ac I will fly back. Yay!
