FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Hi all... Long time reader..
Currently a Citibank select customer coming up for renewal for the annual $700 fee. I wa thinking of cancelling my card and then re-applying for the prestige card (also $700 as it replaces the select) to get the 70,000 bonus points.

Are there any restrictions in doing this?

If citi aren't prepared to pony up the 30k annual bonus points for renewing select customers, these customers would be better off cancelling, waiting 3 months and reapplying imo. My inertia has prevented me being the test case (renewal fee paid late October).

Yes, I was under the impression that it was 6 months based upon my chat with Citi CSR. But mind you, i did not check and confirm this by ringing few more Citi CSR :-)

anyone else receive their card today? fancy little box, and a travel passport (citi branded) included. card itself is a bit naff on first impressions

Box hit the bin quite quickly but the benefits booklet was a good read, especially with the complimentary VIP airport services

Who uses those travel wallets these days? I'd have been better off with a bottle of champagne :)

very disappointed the card is not made out of titanium.. haha! jk

My supplementary cards arrived today in a citi blue envelope and with a directory of services booklet. Mine hasn't arrived yet. Assuming just the primary card holder gets the wallet? Guess I'll get mine shortly.

Same thing here.

You can rely on citibank to get the cart before the horse. You cant activate the supplementary card until the primary card has been activated.

Maybe in tomorrow's mail.

Certainly take advantage of the Limo service twice a year.

Interested to find out which airports the limo service works for. Will definitely be using it. Shame limited to Asia pacific. But a great feature anyway :)

As long as we don't need to use their travel service to book our flights/trip to qualify.

That would be my initial thoughts And I will be pleasantly surprised if not the case.

Same with 4th night free Accom - I assume will only apply if hotel booked through Citi.

Correct on this one. Asked last night and got confirmed via email. Might do a couple of price checks and compare it to a hotels.com or Expedia etc.

Would be interested to know about whether status benefits are conveyed.

Yep plenty unanswered questions as yet - please do report back on your findings.

Dear Mr. DaveB,
I trust this email finds you well.
My name is Marcelo, I am a Lifestyle Manager with Citi Prestige Concierge and it is my pleasure to assist you with your questions about your benefits.
Actually, I am happy to share with you the following information:

There are some fantastic hotel benefits attached to the card. For example, as a Prestige cardmember in Australia you are entitled to a free night’s hotel stay once per year at a selection of exclusive properties. There is no minimum stay to get this benefit - if you want, you are entitled to stay for just one night and it will be free. The relation of the participant properties can be found here.

On top of this, you are also entitled to a separate benefit of a fourth night free at one of 900 exquisite properties across the globe, when you stay for a minimum of 4 consecutive nights, and this benefit can be used an unlimited amount of times each year. Please, see the list here.

If you enjoy playing golf then there are some great benefits for you – Citi Prestige cardmembers are entitled to unlimited complimentary green fees at 15 participating courses in the Asia Pacific region. On top of this, you are entitled to another three complimentary green fees at participating courses outside of the region. Unfortunately, we do not have a list of properties for this benefit, since the golf courses can change constantly.

The Prestige card also entitles you to a complimentary meet and assist service on flight departure or arrival, twice per calendar year. You will be assisted through the airport and we will ensure a smooth transition to your onward connection. Again, I am happy to share with you a list of the participant airports here. Also, in order to book this benefit, we need to have additional information, as follows:

Eligibility

- Open to primary cardmember
- Available twice in a calendar year
- Only airports in the Asia Pacific region - approx. 30 airports.

Details required from cardmember:

- Full name of passenger
- Number of passengers (additional fee charged for other passengers)
- Which airport
- Arrival or departure meet and assist
- Flight number and airline
- Date of travel
- Time the service required
- Passport details and nationality
- Flight reference / PNR (optional)
- Members email address and phone number for confirmation

MUST BE BOOKED AT LEAST 3 WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE.
Cancellations must be notified at least 48hours in advance or service will be considered availed.

Lastly, we already requested your upgrade to Hilton HHonor and, for the Shangri-La Jade level, we will need to have your date of birth. Would you be so kind to let us know it, whenever it is more convenient for you?
I hope you find this information to be of help. However, if you should need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Once again, thank you for choosing Citi Prestige Concierge.
Kind Regards,

Can't guarantee until I make a booking for end of the month but have been advised you do not have to book flights to get the limo service. Most major Asian cities are covered with Hanoi and Saigon (easier to write) covered for Vietnam which I was particularly interested in when phoning earlier in the week.
