FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

I'm sure you could book it without. If you had the Select it should have the same card number anyway.
OK - that makes sense - YES I have Select - and still have Select til new card arrives - didn't put 2 and 2 together re number staying same though.

I called Citi Concierge to check rates at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai for Mar 5-9, 2015 and rep asked for my Prestige Card number - well I was totally dumb and said had not received it yet - didn't twig to just give her old Select number - she would not assist at all as she said '4th night free' , 'Airport Transfers' etc were Prestige benefits.

I have a spare hour or so now so will call back and go through process again - I really want to check their hotel rates V booking direct - will report back.
 
Do you think I will be able to book this calendar year's free hotel night for a Hong Kong hotel for next April, and then 2015's free night for another night at the same Hong Kong hotel? I can't see why not. I don't think the booking has to be in the same calendar year as when the booking is made.

Yes this is possible.
 
It does seem to be better than the signature/platinum concierge - although each concierge doesn't have their own email address. Have to respond to their emails which come from a team inbox and the emails eventually find the person you're replying to.

You do get people from around the world rather than just an APAC call center which is the case with signature/platinum.
 
My request for a limit increase seems to have been transferred to an empty desk. Five attempts to get to find out what is happening has resulted in no information.
Citi in the US are amazing compared with Australia with their credit cards.
 
Another data point:

Since Friday the Mantra on Queen in Brisbane is booked out for this Thursday 11th December. On hotels.com the 1 bed apartment is available but the hotel room (base level) is not.

The other Brisbane hotel the grand chancellor the Deluxe Room is not available (Queen bed) but the twin is and I think they are the same price so I think they are searching one room type only.

I'm considering writing a complaint to FOS to get them to take action on the basis the limited availability was not sufficiently disclosed on promotional material to see if it pushes them. I can't book close in and I can't book more than 3 months out for international destinations. It also seems like unless the very base level room is available then you can't make a booking.

hi cove, yes i often wonder what they are doing there.

was considering adding the other half to a companion card, but was wanting to raise credit limit prior to this. website says no under my profile, what turns up in the snail mail today? lo and behold, an offer to increase credit limit (50% increase), log back into portal to see if i can do it online - "we're sorry, there are no current offers available for you"... ridiculous.
 
I also got a credit limit increase offer (snail mail) with inducement of double points in Jan (up to 10k max bonus) if accepted. This would have come in handy, but I'm still waiting for the new card to arrive after cancelling the last one.

On a very related matter, I got in touch with Citi Concierge with regards to availing the Limo transfer to the airport Thursday last week- for travel last week of Dec. I was shot back an email requesting a list of things, that included passport details etc. Although, I keep getting update emails saying things are being looked into - they still have not managed to book anything.

At this rate, it will be worthless for people with less than a week travel wanting to avail the facility. I am hoping this (and Cruiser's example) is just the initial few niggles rather the infamous norm that Citi are known for.
 
Guess its Both, but limited to 2 per year. The various emails and the updates reads that "the request is being worked on". See below

Kimster your request was 'to the Airport'? I thought it was transfer only 'from the Airport'?

This just sounds hopeless. I am wanting to book a hotel night in Hong Kong for next year using this year's free night, and then book a second adjacent night at the same hotel using 2015's free night. But the stay is in April - doesn't sound like I'll be able to book it!

Any suggestions on how to play it if they can't do it? I wonder if I can book a night next year which is available, and then in the new year change it to the night I actually want (no T&Cs specific to this that I a aware of). I guess I may have nothing to lose since I can't use a night this year for anywhere else, so it would be lost in any event.
