But the footwell in the front row is much bigger. So if that is a concern, choose front row and BYO ear plugs.Just difficult to adjust to, if you’re used to a reclining seat, foot well is small and has an annoying pillar. Difficult to get in and out of to get up. Definitely don’t select a seat in the first 2 rows. I felt sorry for the people there as the galley and more particularly the lavatory in row one would be extremely disruptive.

Two pillows provided along with the usual. Other available if requested. What concerns me is that I don't mind lounging but that is best done with cushions so that you can lounge in a way that suits your body but from all reports there is only one tiny good-for-nothing type cushion provided and there are no spares. (I welcome readers who have flown and have had different experiences to counter this claim.)

Im the opposite, in terms of hard product the QF J seat (especially on A380) has more accessible storage. The automated recline makes transitioning from seated to sleeping position super easy, the non retractable sleeping belt makes it easier to roll over and lumbar support is superior.I guess the seat is not for everyone. Given the choice, would I however fly AY in biz over QF? Most certainly!

Every single flight the IFE stopped working and had to be reset.
The film and TV catalogue is also by far the most limited of any major western airline.
Good to know, Roo, thanks. Feeling reassured! Two pillows; I asked for another and got one on one of my flights. Having a bad lower back, I was very worried about the slouch/lack of support, but it was fine on 3 long haul legs.
100%! The food, IFE and crew are wonderful.
Gosh really? I did 6 and no problems with any. Some you win..some you lose i guess Unlike QF where certainly I just don't fly them "long haul " as a matter of course but across from Perth to Sydney 3 times...at over 5 hours per sector .the 330 as scheduled got changed to the awful 737, the food was rubbish, the seat pants, the IFE was on your own device, the internet failed and the cost was almost equivalent of flying between Asia and Finland on AY. ,Did 8 flights in this seat in 2024.

Sat in the front rows on both A330 and A350, no issues with noise or aromas for me, both flights 9+ hours no ear plugs. But the footwell in the front row is much bigger. So if that is a concern, choose front row and BYO ear plugs.
Disagree given one of the alternative aircraft choices if flying on a QF flight number to Europe is an A380 with more accessible storage and more comfortable seat.Well, considering AY don't fly A380s, that's not really a fair comparison. AY A350s (which Qantas doesn't fly) has as much accessible storage as you'd want if you want to go any plane comparison.
Which doesn't change fact that AY don't provide any.I used my QR PJs
Storage space and PJs are not everything....,. Clean, tidy aeroplanes, attentive staff without being intrusive, good food (certainly I like it) and decent IFE makes it more agreeable to me. ,...and at a much better cost....always.Disagree given one of the alternative aircraft choices if flying on a QF flight number to Europe is an A380 with more accessible storage and more comfortable seat.
The storage on the AY A333 (which i flew on HEL to JFK)with this non reclining seat was impractical . There is room for a tablet but not enough for shoes or a handbag or jumper.
