First Qantas A220 revealed

Surely not charging extra fees for the extra legroom (Economy X) seats for WP?
As WP, all of row 4/12 and rows 5-9 A/C are being charged at $30. Ouch, that sucks!

Big middle finger to P1s who can be trumped by a NB with $$$ in Row 4.
I think P1's can select at anytime for free however (or is that just for international?)

$30 is a lot for a 1hr mel-cbr. Especially given the flights are already very expensive...

So WP can select extra legroom seats for free on other airlines long haul flights but would be charged when flying QF MEL-CBR

Charging WP for seats, oh my.......

That might go some way to recouping the 13% in statutory profit reduction in today's QF 1H results.

As a gold, it seems rows 5-8 are blocked completely. Row 9 AC chargeable along with rows 4 & 12.

Once logged out as NB it seeks you can only select from Row 17, aside from the chargeable seats. Splitting the difference, Silver can probably select from Row 13.

I’d be surprised if 5-8 AC remain blocked and chargeable for platinum only. If they are going to be charabw seats, I don’t see why Qantas wouldn’t make the available to all to purchase.

Yes - you can see a seat reclined in an image
With only 30” pitch I’m wondering how squishy the seats will be :(

What's the actual extra legroom on 4-9 A/C (in in/cm)?
I know it looks decent from the seatmap.

To be fair, they're chargeable to WP on domestics normally anyway, it's only internationals where those (and Row 1 J) is freely available to WP, I'm pretty sure.

It does suck though, agree.

Interesting that MEL-CBR will be both QantasLink A220s and Mainline 737s in June rather than all Qantaslink.
This is not new. Has been a mix for years depending on demand and so on. Usually some peak services have had 737s, but not consistently. Not sure if linked to things like Parliament sitting times or things like that, but has been this way in the past.

The 717, now 223, have allowed for schedule frequency in the market.

Row 4 on 737 not chargeable.

Now extra legroom WP must pay, quite a difference from previous. WP lost half the front half of the plane now.

This will have to change.

I agree it's rubbish WP are getting charged these fees. They used to be waived. Really nickel and diming your supposedly valued customers. Woukd prob also include Gold too.
