First Qantas A220 revealed

Doesn't that just mean the premium FF who refuse to pay for those seats and select a "normal" seat end up with an inferior QF experience to the NB with no selection who is then allocated the vacant extra legroom seats on check-in? I know this has been the essence of previous discussion but just spelling out how purverse it seems to be.

No not really, but really don’t want this thread to go off topic and turn into yet another seating thread! If you read through the other threads you’ll see, read up at what happens at T24.

Brought over from a thread on the B717 retirement timing

I understand the issue is somewhat Pilot related? Ie nobody wants to go over to the A220?

Can you expand on this? Venture a reason why pilots may not want to go from B717 to A220?

I assume Qantas Group are using the new aircraft as a chance to do their usual thing regarding employee benefits (I think the contract changes when they move to a new aircraft type?)

Six months on, the Qantas A220 seatmap still show the current interior being only for VH-X4A to X4E. No word on the interiors of X4F onwards….

If you do the T24 you might get lucky!

X4D is due to depart Canada this weekend on its delivery flight.

And for those who are wanting one last ride on the 717, get in quick. Based on current schedules, October 13 appears to be the last day of operation for the 717 out of Melbourne, and October 26 out of Sydney.

You'll find the 717s on MEL-CFS/HBA/LST, SYD-CBR/HBA/LST.

They'll occasionally sub in for the A220 on MEL-CBR too.

"Where You Can Fly QantasLink’s New Airbus A220"

It's not from BNE to MEL, apparently. We just had the second of two flights specifically chosen for this aircraft type cancelled and replaced with 738.

Maybe I'll head to Riga... less chance of replacement :)
