First Qantas A220 revealed

Technically branded QantasLink.

Similarly in the US whether owned or franchised the sites seem to count the smaller subsidiaries separately.

Personally think (particularly for Qantas) you need to adjust for plane seat count.

Qantas youngest recent 'fleet age' was probably in 2006/7 when they had a chunk of very young 737s, but also a lot of older 747s.

My point was these aircraft are referred to by Qantas as 'Qantas' planes.

This applies also to the first two you mention, though not Jetstar aircraft.
They also refer to Express Freighters Australia as Qantas, so maybe we should group all planes under that banner? FWIW Airfleets list by operator or the AOC they operate under, which legally is the correct entity as registered.

Airfleets is exclusively (or primarily) concerned with passenger-carrying planes, not freighters.
Err no, they track fleets by AOC not purpose, eg https://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Express Freighters Australia.htm

To put it in their own words “Airfleets contains all information on civil aircraft. Covering the majority of manufacturers in the world (Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier, Sukhoi, Fokker ,...), Airfleets informs you about aircraft movements between different operators and fleets status of most airlines in the world. Airfleets is also photos for planespotters.”

The BNE-MEL and MEL-BNE would be a good one to look at to assess how things are going (poorly) with the A220s as the QLink flights on that route would have been 100% A220.

I have three a220 flights between those ports in the next week, looking at recent performance on QF1262/QF1263 - I am dubious on if I will be on time.

Looks like I spoke too soon, my A220 flight to Melbourne is delayed an hour out of Brisbane tonight. Inbound looks to be running 1.5 hours late.

they will blame the weather or atc. It simply is never their own incompetence. You would think this mob was government owned and operated.

Have you actually seen the weather around Canberra and Sydney today?
Also Melbourne this morning had storms for a period of time.

The first delayed flight of the day for the specific aircraft will be stated as weather or maybe crew. All subsequent flights will be 'due to the late inbound arrival of the operating aircraft'.

I'm not an aircraft expert - but I was away on a work trip 18 months ago with someone who previously worked for Boeing and Qantas - in conversation, he was banging on about how they were bringing in these 'fake' Airbus A220 units, and basically had zero good to say - just talked down nearly every aspect of the plane, engineering etc etc

Now, I'm on Australian Frequent Flyer - so I am susceptible to being impressionable from good marketing ... I was thinking, what a toss, this fella must just be bitter and twisted because he doesn't work in aviation any more ...

Proof might be in the pudding though.
