The Barmy started up after the last wicket but have quietened down again. There are 3 distinct organised groups - Section 13 at one end and on the diagonal opposite there are more. Another big group up in the nose bleed sears Section 42 to 44.

Thanks Johnk. Enjoying it immensely. Glad I do this every year with good clients, friends and family

Katich putting Swann to all parts of the ground.

One English fan just got forcibly escorted from Section 75 by two of Qld's finest but was being a bit belligerent. "You're going home in the back of a paddy van". His mate was silly enough to argue the point and almost joined his friend being frog marched outside

Thanks for the updates,Lindsay. Keep them coming. And the occasional photo.

Message to JohnK . John there are advantages to owning an Iphone and btw, great to see you nice and chirpy on the forum once more.

Something we have been waiting for all day has just happened.

The Barmy have been going off singing (off key mind you) the Barmy Song and finally the group of Aussies sitting next to them have retorted with Waltzing Matilda - see photo.

The (English) guys behind us showed us the Barmy's "song sheet".

Damn, Clarke just got out for 9, caught Prior bowled Finn. 4/140. Marcus North in now. Was Prior's 100 Test catch in 36 Tests.

Not a great batting pitch, eh? Either that or England have finally warmed up.

They have warmed up, but so have Hussey & Haddin. Huss just spanked a ball for 4 and the diving English fieldsman missed it right in front of us. Needless to say, the members of the QCC clapped politely whilst the rest of the ground errupted with epithets

Thanks. And by the way there are advantages to not owning an iPhone....

Hussey amd Haddin starting to take the attack apart, particularly Swan. Hitting 4's to all parts of the ground.

5/213. Hussey 77, Haddin 20

Taking first innings points should be a given, then. Not that that matters in the grand scheme of this competition.

As long as we don't see a middle order collapse, we should be in good shape.

Another patron ejected from Section 75 about 30 mins ago, this time an Aussie supporter. He was cheered from the stadium by his adoring crowd as he was draped in an Aussie flag.

Refresh my memory, is it possibly being draped in an Aussie flag that got him booted? What was the controversy last year? I forget..

Bad light has just stopped, then a rainstorm had us running for cover. Then it got heavy, so the covers are on

Unlikely now, given the rainstorm :-)

Being ahead on the first innings is a mental positive. The Gabba also is known for having results, generally in 4 days.

I also have enjoyed the flight path with 734/400's, 734/800's and the ocassional 717. Some guys here though don't know the difference between an A380 and a Saab, so have been trying to educate them on the finer points of plane spotting in the quieter moments.
