PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hi everyone- time for me to sign up here and leave my first post!

Seems like this is a great place for questions like this so hoping someone can help me: I have requested an upgrade from J to First class on QF32 LHR-SYD, departing on Mon, April 25th.

Any idea how my chances for this to come through are? I'm a QF Gold FF. Thanks a lot already!

Hi Berlin,

Welcome to AFF. :D

Expert Flyer shows no P class availability, so you may be out of luck. :(

Thanks a lot for checking, even though it's not good news :-|

Have another biz trip on the A380 coming up later in the year so I will try again then! ;)

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Hi there just wondering if there are many award upgrade seats from Y+ to J on QF009 2/07/2011 and returning on QF010 on 15/07/2011. Sounds like this recent J sale has this flight chokkers.
Many thanks for your help...

it is a long long long long loooong long way out but availability shows wide open in J and very low in whY+

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

MIL and FIL are both flying SYD-SIN this comng Fri, 15 April, QF6 I think. Both NB. We have requested a Y+ to J upgrade. How are the numbers looking?
And then on Sun 17th, another Y+ to J for them, also QF6 SIN-LHR.

Thanks!

That would be QF5.

Code:
QF5 SYD-SIN 15th April: J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X8 E0

Wide open (I9) , points upgrade chances from Y+ very good.

QF5 goes to FRA. Your folks either have QF9 or QF31 -
Code:
QF 9 SIN-LHR 17th April: F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I1 W9 R9 T1 Y9 B8 H7 K7 M7 L7 V7 S7 N3 Q3 O2 G0 E0
QF31 SIN-LHR 17th April: F3 A3 J9 C9 D6 I1 W4 R2 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0 E0

Chances reasonable from Y+ either flight, but a little better on QF9.

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

QF041 on 17/4 Y -> J upgrade for a WP?

I'd be lucky to fly internationally every 3 months with my job, if that. Is Expert Flyer worth the $5 if 95% of your travel is Aus domestic?

Flight does not seem chockers yet;

QF 041 J9 C9 DL IL Y9 B9 H7 K8 M3 L1 GL

Can't comment on EF. have never used it. You can always post here and someone will pick up on the request. Saying that I think EF shows P, U and X class...

SYD CGK QF041 17APR11 J9 C9 D0 I0 Y9 B9 H7 K6 M0 L0 G0 E0

14/30 Skybeds allocated (guide only).

I'd suggest good chances if in booking class B/H/K, reasonable otherwise.

As far as checking availability yourself, see tip in post #1 of this thread.

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

it has been a while since ive posted here!!!!

it sucks how work can keep us too occupied to blog!!

Im off to LAX on qf93 next friday (22/4) am in J but have requested an upgrade to F. My status has slumbered to a mild Silver :( however after my few us trips ill return a happy plat...
Ive looked on expertflyer but there doesn't seem to be any avail for the upgrade (or im just looking in the wrong place)
Also requested an up on the return flight, can anyone help me?

Ex MEL - QF93 on 22/4 booked in J (want an up to F)

Ex LAX - QF94 on 30/4 booked in J (want an up to F)

I also noted that the exMEL flight is on an A388 and return on a B744
Ive never actually been granted an UP on the A388 is this cause QF dont allow suite upgrades?

Thoughts would be appreciated.... what more is there to do on a friday stuck in the office wanting nothing more than to be anywhere but here!!;)

See tip in post #1.

In relation to F upgrades, look for high A class availability (discount First) to indicate increased chances.

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Who wants to hazard a guess as to how full this one is:

QF10 01MAY LHR-MEL - F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T5 Y4 B4 H2 K0 M0 L0 G0 E0

(I managed to somehow snag a Q fare basis on that one only yesterday, so it seems strange that it's really so full...)

Wide open (I9) , points upgrade chances from Y+ very good.
Thanks - they were "waitlisted" last night, and the upgrade on QF5 came through this morning. They are hopefully in the air, having their first Skybed experience!

We are all on QF31, sorry that I wasn't more specific/didn't remember correctly. Still hoping that upgrade comes through for them, but not holding my breath.

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Just checked Mr Katie's QF points. 70k deducted - his parents have been upgraded to J for tonight's QF31 SIN-LHR. The upgrade was confirmed late last night/early this morning in their account, but the points hadn't been deducted yet. They're gone now, and I'm so happy the ILs are getting this swanky treatment. :)

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Is anyone able to look at QF 134 AKL-MEL for Monday 2 May
Looking for point upgrade
Classic award not avalaible JASA is more than 100,000 points

Can someone kindly look at loads for hnl-syd on jq4 on 10th Nov? Thanks.
Nov 10th? That's a long way out - and normally hard to determine a general trend.

In this case:

JQ 4 - 10NOV11: J4 D4 Y4 B4 V4 T4 S4 R4 Q4 O4 N4 M4 L4 A4 K4 H4 I4 E0 C4

That's pretty wide open.

For ongoing loadings, please see tip in post #1.

Heading to SIN for work, have applied for J upgrade on both legs.

26/4: QF9 Y -> J, fallback to Y+ if not available.
29/4: QF82 Y -> J

I think that QF9 has very limited Y+, as QF booking system indicates 5 or less seats available. What are my odds?
