PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Given N9/J5 I doubt you'll see any U class before the day of the flight.

ODU may be your best bet.

Do you use E/F, maybe a fare alert if so?

Thanks Serfty. Even worse as I checked again and there are also Q. Now at N8 Q8. I've set the fare alert but I'm at mum's place with basically only iPhone access to the net. So email is slightly problematic.

I'll keep an eye open. Row 4 on a 73H might be a way to wean SWMBO back into economy. ;)

So what are my chances of an upgrade from PE to Business on

QF11 on 19 May and QF12 on 29 May

Would be nice, I am traveling alone

It's now J8 D8 U7 YBHK9 M6 LV3. I stupidly forgot the 24hour upgrade cut off. So it looks like QP upgrade lotto tomorrow.

Could someone please check flight loading/upgrade likelihood on QF31 departing on Thursday 5th May please? Interested in knowing my upgrade chances from Y to J.

Thank you in advance!

Note: upgrade request has been made for 2 passengers

Time to start thinking about our return flights. For the ILs, both NB.
Mon 9 May, QF32(?? Def A380) LHR-SIN. Y+ to J requested.
Thu 12 May QF5 (?? FRA 747) SIN-SYD, also Y+ to J.

They are feeling very spoilt by our success in getting them to J for the first two big legs of the trip! :)

Both flights are still available in I class but a lot can change. Fingers crossed.

Can anyone give me advice on VA7 to LAX on 9 May and VA8 to BNE on 28 May (or can you only "see"QF flights)?

To get loadings yourself, see tip in post #1.

Here are the GDS loadings for VA on those flights:

VA7 : J5 C4 D4 I4 W5 S4 R4 O3 Y3 B3 H3 K3 G3 E3 N0 V0 Q0 T0

VA8 : J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 S9 R9 O5 Y9 B9 H9 K9 G9 E9 N9 V9 Q9 T9

I was booked on the same flight but then cancelled last week when my SQ232 flight J saver award become confirmed (after being waitlisted).

How is QF15 BNE-LAX looking this Saturday, 14/5? I've requested Y+ to J upgrades on points, currently SG but should tick over to WP on Fri when I fly SIN-BNE.
I am definitely not in Skybed config of any kind for QF15 on 14/5 and QF16 on 19/5. :(

Oh, and good news - the upgrade points fairy is shining on the ILs so far! Just tried to check them in online and can't, their booking & checkmytrip is saying J confirmed LHR-SIN tomorrow. Extra good news as FIL has not been well, and the last few days in London have been ordinary for him. :) Hope he gets to enjoy the comfort of his seat on this flight, and we're not all wiped out on Tues in SIN. :p

Hi Katie,

QF15 seems full only 1 in W 3 in full Y. From the seatmap it does show as a 4 class aircraft.

QF16 on the other hand appears to be quite empty;

Hi experts, grateful for some help/advice.

Mrs NC is taking the NC family MEL to HKG for a conference she has been organising in HK. NC family comprises Mrs NC, Miss NC (2 yo), Baby NC (5 weeks old) and myself. Baby NC is taking his first premium cabin flight.

We are leaving this Wednesday MEL-SYD on QF402, then QF127 SYD-HKG, all in J.

We are returning HKG-MEL on 17 May on QF30. Miss NC and myself are in F on points. Mrs and Master NC are in J and have requested a points upgrade. Very grateful if you would let me know the loadings for QF30 to see how likely it is Mrs and Master NC will be upgraded. (I may need help interpreting the loadings - is it high availability in A class that is determinative or are there other key factors?)

Not essential, but any seating suggestions for NC family travel would also be gratefully accepted. We have requested the bassinet.

Finally, and I hope this is unnecessary, but I apologise in advance to any AFFers seated near the NC family on these flights!

Many thanks.

NC

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get some help if possible - I'm booked on QF568 this Friday out of Perth, lucky me its the 11.55pm flight after a large dinner and I put in for an upgrade to J. At the moment it says no upgrades available and wanted to see what the chance of the upgrade coming available between now and then.

Cheers,
Andrew
