PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

I tried this question as a post in the QFF thread but to no avail, so maybe someone here can shed some light: Why would QF have a blackout on FF seats to Singapore from 12 Dec this year?

I can see the flights if I try an book a paid seat, but when I do a seaarch for Classic Award seats from any capital city = SYD, MEL, BNE, PER - for the week 12/12/2012 to 19/12/12 there is zero availability. It's not a seasonal blackout, as I can go to Bangkok or Hong Kong, just not SIN. Very curious... and very inconvenient, as I had been planning to stop over there on my way to the Northern Hemisphere this Xmas... :(

Just found Classic Award seats available ex-MEL to SIN on 12, 13, 19, 22, 23 Dec 2012.
Maybe have another look?
Could have been a simple glitch in the system at the time you checked?

No glitch, 'tis probably the additional allowance for WP you are seeing p/j.

Sam, see the tip in post #1 and look for X class availability.

Other than that you could consider the BKK option and look for a cheapy to SIN?

Okay, thanks, Serfty.
I take your point.
The vagaries of additional availability have escaped me to date.
Will become more attuned in future.

FWIW, E/F, KVS & Flightstats tend to show QP/NB availability.

I often do searches using my daughter's NB account to check such vagaries.

Thanks serfty (and p/j) - SIN was just a means to an end, instead of going and coming via HKG - no great shakes if we have to route that way... of course booking in Jan and then seeing the PER-SIN leg open up in April will be met with howls of derision my my other half!

Just wondering what the mood of the meeting is on the chances of a points upgrade in this scenario. QF10 SIN-MEL (A380) in a couple of weeks time. I'm afraid I'm not much chop on interpreting these things (though I suspect all the zeroes in the W/Y cabins may be be a good omen).

EF bucket count: F3 A2 J9 C7 D2 I1 W0 R0 T0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 G0 E0

Bought PE seat, and submitted points upgrade request to J exactly the day it was submissible (90 days out)? Am WP.

EF Seat Map shows 5 unallocated seats in F, 19 in J (and 5 blocked) and W is chockers - every seat allocated. Y (as is to be expected) has plenty of unallocated seats.

TBH, I won't be overly fussed if the upgrade does not clear, as I've never travelled QF PE, so it would add to the knowledge base, but given I've requested it, it would be nice if the upgrade went through.

Cheers

For a WP, point upgrade from PE to J is as probable as it's going to be. Forget the seating allocation - economy is oversold!

So you upgrade and leave me alone in PE, Qantas just might be nice and upgrade me for free, since the back of the plane is so full.

Flight Stats is showing J/9 C/9 D/9 I/1 U/9 for a PER > SYD QF flight later this month. The Y cabin appears quite lightly sold.

Fair enough it's upgrade season but do upgrades come out of the U bucket ? Never seen a 'U9' before.

Just seeking peoples thoughts re upgrade possibilities.
QF009 MEL-SIN Sat 7th Jan
EF shows:
F3 A3 P0 J9 C7 D6 I7 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y4 B4 H4 K2 M0 L0 G0 E0

This has changed a little in an interesting way. Now showing:

F2 A2 P0 J9 C9 D9 I9 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y1 B1 H1 K1 M0 L0 G0 E0

EF shows 10 unallocated seats in Bus and 1 in PE. We have 80 H & K and EF shows 80J as blocked so that's actually not too bad if it holds.

I guess I'll see soon enough.

F2 A2 P0 J9 C9 D9 I9 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y1 B1 H1 K1 M0 L0 G0 E0T

I reckon YM are trying to raise some extra revenue by selling a PE/J seat for High cost economy prices.

I have tried doing this before but thanks to your persistence I finally *get* it. The following categories are all 9 - J C D and I, but the only ones "available" as an upgrade are D and I; which at this stage anyway, are looking good. A few weeks to go though....

Yay, they came through today for tonights flight, not that they know it yet, being in Mumbai where it is currently 2am. Seats 2A and 2B Singapore - Adelaide. Just the one sector but maybe the nice Qantas rep in Mumbai might upgrade them in the first sector.

Hi there,

just wondering if someone can post loadings for QF11 on 28 Jan? They just changed it from 380 to 747 - unsure why, but we'll miss those power points! can you tell from EF if it is a recently refreshed 747, or an old one?

What are the possibilities of an up-up or Upgrade for 2 pax from Y - 1 WP and 1 SG on same ticket?

thanks all
Steve

it's a 4 class 744, 14F/52J/32W/255Y - first on the list here.

I really don't know about upgrade chances, someone else can interpret that. :)

Is anyone able to check the loading for QF2 BKK->SYD on Monday the 6th of February?

Thank you in advance! :D
