PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

OP-ups PE->J would generally only occur if Economy was full and they needed seating. It appears not to be the case this time (x9).

However, since they permitted you to move to a PE seat when PE is showing sold out tells me they are prepared to seat some PE PAX in J.

Hi guys,

I'm booked on a flight to LAX in two weeks time and am hoping to score a points upgrade to J. Can anyone of the ones in the know here please give me an indication of how good my chances are?

I'm (basic) Platinum, have booked Premium Economy and put in the upgrade requests exactly 90 days before or just about 100 days for the return (this was just around the time when they changed the upgrade system to get rid of the 90 day period) so I should be one of the firsts in the queue I'd hope.

OUT: SYD-LAX on QF 11; Friday 16th March
IN: LAX-SYD on QF 12; Saturday 24th March

I have reserved what I believe are pretty much the best window seats in Premium Why (34A Emergency Exit) both ways but as this is a badly needed privately funded getaway, I wouldn't mind the upgrade at least one-way. Any indications how lucky I need to me will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

Did you check out the tip in post #1?

In any case WP in PE would be ahead of any WP in Y for upgrades to J if that helps.

Checking loading for family member flying with 1.5yr old (without a seat booked):

EY473 - 01march 2012
EY45 - 01 march 2012

Y class and hoping for light loading for her and child.

Thanks

From that I would say there are quite a few spare J class seats available. Fingers crossed!

Quite a few J seats, also F has at least 7 spare seats (F7) so some J->F upgrades will open up a few J seats. However being two weeks out from DOD (date of departure) I would be calling it, like Melbourne Cup day, a bit too early to call ;)

Just me again,

Trying for that BA op-up once again. I deliberately choose to fly BA over QF on the SIN-SYD sectors purely for op-up chances. I'm batting 2 from 3 op-ups on this route, so here's my fourth attempt :)

12 hours ago it was showing many more 0's in the lower Y buckets ...... my gut feel is the cabin is around 2/3rds full so fingers crossed that some more Y bookings will push some of us into W (or if you're greedy like me, into J) ;)

Quick questions- MH72 on 19/3.
What are the loadings like? Space available request on order, how are the chances looking?
