PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Dear AFFer's

Need a little assistance chasing an I Class Ticket (Business Class) from HNL to AKL on 10th Aug 12 or 15 Aug 12 or 22nd Aug 12 Flight No. is NZ09

Appericate if you can provide the information

Cheers

Thanks a lot again guys- I will post afterwards how it went!

Upgrades came through on both flights- two lovely A380 J class flights which friendly staff, excellent food and drinks and a nice sleep as well. Nothing to fault QF with at all.

The "improved upgrade" experience didn't work for me at all though, found out about the upgrade both times on my FF profile only, both around T-20. First time it had allocated a J seat but still said "Requested" under status for several hours until it as cleaned up, second time even worse it told me for about ten hours that my flight had been cancelled and I have to urgently call QF for assistance. Turned out that they had cancelled my Why+ seat without showing my J seat at all resulting in this warning message. To the guy in the call center, it all looked fine with a confirmed upgrade to J- apparently happens all the time, according to him.

QF 9 MEL LHR 388 F4 A4 P0 J3 C1 D0 I0 U0 W1 R0 T0 Z0 Y1 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 G0 E0 04/04/12 3:30 PM 05/04/12 5:40 AM
As a WP, if you are booked in full J then you have a slight chance.

Hi all, long range forecasting required for QF 9 MEL-LHR on the 4th on May. Coming from whY to either Y+ or J.

Here's the Loadings:
F9 A8 J9 C9 D0 I0 W0 R0 T0 Y9 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 G0 E0

It doesn't look good to me, anyone with more experience care to comment?

Interestingly, the MEL-SIN leg looks like this:
F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I9 W6 R4 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 S9 Q2 G0 X5 E0

Hi All

First post ever.....so here goes.....

I have QFF SG.

I have paid Premium economy for QF9 on April 23 Mel LHR. (T)

Flightstats shows availability of F3 A2 P0 J5 C4 D0 I0 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y3 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 ...0 for all the rest for the Mel - LHR... THe Mel Sin leg has 9 availability for both First and Business. y9 and b9, but all the other economy are 0

I have requested an upgrade using points all the way to Heathrow.

To my unskilled eyes, it looks like economy and premium economy are pretty full. There is a little room but not much in both first and business.

What are the chances of my being upgraded using points based on these seat availability?

Would they upgrade me to Singapore, then put me back in premium economy for Singapore - heathrow leg? I don't want to waste points getting upgraded to Singapore, then put back into my paid class for the leg I really want the upgrade for...

Thanks

Welcome to AFF :D

If you booking is for MEL_LHR (not MEL-SIN and SIN-LHR) then that's how the upgrade will be assessed.

IMHO an SG you have reasonable chance, PE and Economy are almost certainly oversold - that Y3 could very well be "Yield Management" planning to sell J seats for high economy prices.

A WP would almost be assured of a points upgrade out of PE.

Hello All,
Travelling with my partner SYD-LHR as following:
QF1 24/4/12
QF9 25/4/12

Can someone assist with loadings - hoping to upgrade both of us to either PE or J for both flights. I am a WP and my partner is Bronze.
