PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: Points upgrade query

I can see 2 seats from Sydney thru Fiji to LAX in J for 96,000 points each as a WP using Classic.

Re: Points upgrade query

Thanks for the help guys.

Only thing to do now is wait and see I guess.

It is the second leg of nine that we will be flying, have upgrades pending on each leg and more than enough points to cover all of them so with a bit of luck should jag at least one... you would think.

Re: Points upgrade query

Hi,

Find the insight on here really interesting. First question...

I am flying BNE-LAX on the 1st August, what is the chance of a points upgrade for myself and my wife (both silver)?

Guessing slim to none but thoughts would be good...

Cheers

I would say your chances are reasonable for Business with D9/I2 and if not then Premium Economy is quite likely.

Re: Points upgrade query

Hi, can anyone with EF please check flight loads for QF1 SIN-LHR leg only on 21st July?
Based on flightstats J/9 C/9 D/9 I/9 U/0 W/3 R/2 T/1 Z/0 Y/9 B/9 H/9 K/9 M/9 L/9 V/0 S/9 N/9 Q/9 O/9 G/0 X/0 E/0 seems to be plenty in business class?
So this looks good for an upgrade? I have yet to request it though. QFF Gold. 56k points to upgrade to business or chance a free upgrade?

Re: Points upgrade query

E/F would show similar to Flightstats.

O9 indicate little chance of 'free' upgrades.

The PE cabin is quite full (W3) and I9 is indicative of very light Business loads.

SO a good chance - just hope those SG in PE haven't requested many upgrades.

Re: Points upgrade query

Thanks. My economy booking is in L class. Does that make any difference?
As a WP have received more upgrade when in L class than not (best was two of us on a LONEx SYD-JFK 192K QFF points but!).

The Business class loadings are about as good as they could be for points upgrades; PE not so.

Re: Points upgrade query

Hi all. Could anyone provide load stats for QF63 SYD-JNB (26/07) returning QF64 JNB-SYD (13/08)

Currently booked in Y+ looking for J.

Many thanks in advance

Thanks to KVS quick research, I think your chances of going to J (on points upgrade) look pretty good on the outbound leg (with J9 C9 D7 and I3 numbers).

Currently looking at QF9 1 October. I've put in an upgrade request for 6 Y to PE (yes slim chance). Expert flyer is currently showing:

QF 9 MEL 15:30 → SIN 21:25
F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I0 W2 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0

So 2 PE seats for sale. (?) But Qantas will sell me 6 PE seats.

Does this indicate a good chance of upgrades happening? SWMBO is concerned about us getting an upgrade and being spread all around the cabin. I told her there's only 2 seats for sale, don't worry we'll never get it. But I'm slightly concerned now that I see QF willing to sell 6 seats.

(my klacker pulsates at the thought of the lecture I'll receive if we do end up spread around the cabin in PE )

QF8 DFW BNE today - loading in PE and J?

Hi,

Can anyone gef for me information on the loadings in PE and J on QF8 DFW BNE (Departing tonight 25th Aug 9.55 Dallas Time).

(Yes I know its the 26th already in oz).

I am in PE, and I really was hoping to be upgrated to J.

I had a complimentary upgrade given to me for some serius distripution inconvenience last year, and they have recorded it on the booking, but they tell me that I will only find out at the gate.
(For ref I am a Platinum)

Given they were happy to sell me an upgrade on points even yesterday this 'compensation' does not sound to be prioritiesed. Anybody else had one of these? Its starting to sound more like an op up as opposed to compensation. Could be very disapoining.

Hows PE and J looking guys.

I fly in 2.5 hrs

Thanks in advance,

Brian.
