PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Re: QF8 DFW BNE today - loading in PE and J?

Hi Can anyone give me loadings on QF9 31 August and Upgrade from economy to J ?

many thanks in advance

I'd be interested in opinions about upgrade chances of these 2 flights:

QF9 1 Oct
Currently have a request for Y(V) to PE for 6 people in a booking. Unlikely to get up based on loadings below. I could scrape together enough points to request an upgrade to J, and cancel the PE request. Is the J upgrade more likely to succeed? (I ask is thinking of a snowflake being more likely to survive in a fire kind of way)

QF82 11 Oct
Currently have Y(N) to J requested. Clearly this would be preferred over the QF9 upgrade for returning from a holiday on an overnight flight. But I only have enough points for one upgrade or the other. Again 6 travelling together. Really just asking to for comparison of the chance vs the QF9 upgrade. My assessment is no chance. But all things considered, I'll be cancelling the PE upgrade request in preference to this J request.

Anyway really just wondering what the opinion is about the chance for J upgrade requests to succeed on both flights, based on the loadings, for 6 people

if all 6 people were booked on the same booking then any upgrade request would need to be for all on the original booking. If however they are individual bookings then it may happen for you.

We (two of us) are flying in J MEL - LAX on 26 September QF93. I've put in for a points upgrade to F. How's this flight looking? If we miss out (only enough points for one of them) I'll put in for an upgrade on QF12 LAX - SYD on 9 Oct.

Thanks!

looking for one business class upgrade seat from PE or a gold flyer next wednesday 19/9 on QF27. thank you

Exactly what I think. If anything, with the zeros in PE on QF9 I expect there might be some upgrades from PE. But not 6 and there doesn't appear to be any pressure to upgrade from other cabins.

Here are the current loads:

F9 A6 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q3 G0 E0

I'm not the best at interpreting these things but it doesn't look to be very busy.

Chances are quite reasonable currently. I9 is good for upgrade chances.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

I'll keep my fingers crossed then - I put through the upgrade request and I'm silver. Husband is gold. I'm telling myself it's unlikely so I'm not disappointed if/when it doesn't happen. One day we'll get there!\

Thank you for looking it up!

Thanks in advance
