Flybuys General Promotions

I purchased a pre paid Visa card last year and managed to earn both base points and bonus points on the transaction. This was in November last year. I have no idea whether the conditions have changed.

Anyway of withdrawing these in cash? It would go well with the ing 5% cashback

Flybuys had a general offer this month at Coles which offered 10x points on all DVDs until the end of November. I'm just wondering whether anyone has received the bonus points from this promotion. The bonus points rules all seem to have changed so I don't know whether general offers will post as quickly as the targeted offers (most of which are being posted within a few days). I purchased a DVD on Friday with my other shopping. The base points for the transaction and all the bonus points except the DVD points posted yesterday.

Just got a Flybuys statement says -637 points this common?
How do you get a negative balance?

I can think of a couple of ways that the points can be negative.

Are you one of the members who has the Mastercard which has the, convert 2000 points from your account to $10 instantly at the Coles checkout to get a discount off your transaction, feature. Sometimes it takes a day or two to process the conversion at the flybuys end. The staff at Coles will see you as being eligible several days in a row even if you've already used the points.

There's a similar promotion going on at Target at the moment where any member can get up to $20 off their shop by converting points at the checkout. It's possible there is a time delay on this feature and that the system is allowing two $10 discounts on different days even though there are only enough points in the account for one discount of $10.

On very rare occasions Flybuys reverse bonus point transactions due to an error on their side. If you'd redeemed 600 points that Flybuys had credited you in error then the reversal would have sent the account into negative.

If you'd made a large purchase at a flybuys partner and then for some reason got a refund for the purchase, flybuys are allowed to deduct the points from your transaction.

I'm sure there are other possibilities. The only way to know for certain is to contact flybuys directly. Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

Noob question: If I use fly buy dollars to pay at Coles, are they regarded as $ or as discount when it comes to a qualifying spend for bonus points?

flybuys dollars are treated as a payment method not a discount. I've used flybuys dollars to pay for goods and still qualified for targeted offers and I only ever take the minimum amount of groceries required for the targeted offers.

Doesn't seem to specify that can only be used once so would default to allowed as many times as you want.

Last December I took up a general offer in Coles for 75 points for buying a specific size of Vegemite. The offer was advertised on the shelf and there was no indication as to how long the offer lasted and when the points would be credited. I've been waiting a long time but the points have finally been credited. Thanks for the points Flybuys, but could you please improve the time taken to credit general offers. It wasn't worth chasing 75 points manually but it was frustrating having to wait so long.

Thanks for your feedback; we're sorry for your poor experience for this promotion, and that you had to chase up the points. On investigation, there was an internal communication problem that affected this particular promotion and led to an unacceptable time for members to receive their points. For most promotions at Coles supermarkets, you can expect bonus points to be credited concurrently with standard points - that is, within one or two days. The only exceptions at present are for points on your biggest shop over a defined period and a handful of other promotions, for which you still need to allow up to 4 weeks, but we are planning to shorten the lead times for these as well. Different time scales apply to crediting points for other flybuys partners. Again our apologies for the issues with the particular promotion.

Thanks for getting back to me. It sounds like this problem was a one off. Thank you for looking into the matter. As a result I will probably trust general on shelf promotions again. When the points didn't get processed I wondered whether the signs on the shelf had been left there after the end of the promotion date.
