Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

In all fairness to them Coles Branded private Label Items are very good in Quality, and give ALDI a run for their money when matched for quality. Poor old Woolies looks very lost when it comes to private label with abolishing both their Homebrand & Select brands.

I've found some Coles brand products to be good quality and others not so good. The Coles spreadable butter tastes nice but it doesn't taste as good as the Aldi equivalent and doesn't spread as well. I like the Coles frozen products such as chicken nuggets, vegetables and chips but I don't like the Aldi equivalent of these products.

My product based coupons usually have lots of Coles brand products. Usually the only one I use is the Hommus dip coupon. Although I buy Coles brand products, I don't usually like the ones they put on the coupons.

I rarely find I am offered product coupons I can use. The KMart Tyre and auto was a notable exception. :)

Well Coles don't want me as a shopper.Tonight's offer-spend $170 and get a voucher for $5 or spend $200 and a voucher for $15.
So I had imtended to go to coles at the end of the week,it will now be woollies.
Flybuys points are worth 0.5 cents.Wish cards at 5% off are better value.

I can beat that for value.

My first offer from FB since the Mothers Day GC promotion and this is what they send... Does anybody read these before they send them out (a 1.92% return).

I got this offer, but with $5 voucher for $150 spend and $15 voucher for $180 spend. Not the best return, but once stacked with a 1,500 points for $200 docket deal, 1,000 points for $180 coupon and triple points coupon (finally received a new coupon book today after a long wait!), I can see myself stocking up on staples this weekend :)

Yes that's a tiny return. The best version of that offer I've heard about from friends is $5 voucher for spending $50 or $15 voucher for spending $80. That's around a 10% return for the lower voucher and between 15% and 20% return on the higher spend depending on how you factor in the value of the voucher compared to the amount of groceries needed to get the benefit.

I've always been really careful taking up gift card offers where the spend has to go through the flybuys account. I don't want my offer targets to go up as a result of taking up the same offer too many times. It takes ages for the targets to go down again and you risk losing out on more bonus points than you gained through the original gift card offer. I hope your targets come down soon and you get some decent offers.

Some large families would benefit if flybuys increased the value of their rewards based on the amount that is spent. They might be able to get returns over 5% or 10% in that case. Woolworths Rewards does this sometimes in the percentage returns they give to high spenders but I've never seen flybuys attempt this. I try to keep my spending at Coles as low as possible so I can get a decent percentage return from my offers.

Things are looking up for my flybuys offers.

It looks like flybuys have recognised my Week 1 spend, even though there was no confirmation notice on my receipt. I received an email today reminding me that it was Week 2 and there was also an entry in my account giving me the dates of week 2. To me this indicates that things are working well and will be recorded correctly.

My coupons arrived today. 500 points for a $50 spend alternating with triple points. As mentioned above the product coupons were all Coles brand items. I didn't get one for hommus dip but there was one for orange juice. We usually buy brand name orange juice on special but occasionally we use generic brands so I'm prepared to give this a go. I should be able to use all the weekly coupons as the target at the moment is the same as my 4 week offer target.

I also got a triple points docket deal today. It's good to see the docket deals are back on a regular basis.

I agree that my spend targets have been massively skewed by my GC spend and I still have more high targets to come. I did very well out of the GC promotion however and all will be forgiven if I receive a similar Fathers day MC GC offer.

Is it possible to 'close' your FB account and get a 'new' one which is free of previous spend history? I should hit 10000pts in the next week or so which I will transfer to EY and then there will be an opportunity to make the 'switch'.

Just got a 10x points offer at Coles Express for buying over 30 litres of petrol.

I don't think I'll use it as I can get a better deal using my vouchers at Woolworths petrol and paying with 5% discounted Wish cards.

If Coles Express paid flybuys points at the same rate as Coles then this deal might have been worth it provided that the base price of the petrol at my nearest Coles Express was cheaper than the Woolworths petrol.

check the fine print rainbowgirl. we had that offer about 4 weeks ago but it was only for 30+litres of premium(expensive) fuel

Checked the fine print. It says any fuel. The fine print also says something about purchasing anything in store to get the bonus points but I think there's an error somewhere in the terms as there's nothing about instore purchases to get the 10X points offer. The email mentions the general offer of $20 instore for 10 cents per litre discount but nothing about triggering the 10x points deal with any instore purchase.

As irony will have it, I ended up going to Coles Express today but only purchased about 15 litres worth of petrol. The Caltex stand alone and the Woolworths Petrol stations had just gone up to around $1.30 for petrol but the Coles Express near them was still around $1. I got petrol recently which is why I only needed 15 litres to top up. This way I'll be able to go a long time before refilling so hopefully the price will go down by the time I need petrol again.

This offer is only really good for people who have to fill up every week regardless of price. It's been timed to co-incide with the price rises in Melbourne and a few other cities which went up in petrol price at about the same time (within a few days of each other). That seems to be a pattern with some of the Coles Express offers.

With the petrol offer - jerry cans come in useful...

Several accounts got mail. One raised spend level by $30 and the other is now at $340!!!!!!!!

Makes life REALLY hard when you must use a Fly Buys account to take advantage of say a pre-paid MC offer where the 'issue fee' is offset by FB points. I would have hoped no spend on that account since the May Coles MC offer may have reduced the spend amount.

Seems with the algorithm the 'pay peanuts get monkeys' approach won. It is so easy to ID non-routine spending (flag specials etc) for big data that the apparent choice not to (at the customer facing level) beggars belief.

According to the terms and conditions I didn't qualify for my Coles Express targeted offer however I did get 50 bonus points for the transaction. Apparently there is a Tell Coles Express survey and I was invited to participate for 50 bonus points and a chance to go in a draw for a $100 gift card. I was able to give feedback on the visit however I didn't get to give feedback on the flybuys side of things.

If I'd remembered to give feedback about flybuys I would have asked that the base points be increased to the same level of base points as Coles. I would also have liked my 10x points targeted offer to be based on all fuel purchases, not just those over 30 litres.

I received my coupon book yesterday, after missing out on the last round. $50/500pts alternative with triple points. Probably won't use many of the $50 coupons but the triple points will get used.

I used my week 1 coupon today (500 points) and the Coles orange juice coupon (175 points). I also used my triple points docket deal. I got the Week 2 congratulations message at the end of the receipt so it really looks like things are being tracked properly now.

Coupon Book received today .
Coupons attached : Spend $70 for 500 bonus points plus triple points coupons.
Whilst the spend threshold has jumped up from $30 previously $70 is achievable.
Some of the Bonus point coupons on Coles branded products included two variants of Cookies plus fresh Juice.
Better than nothing at Woolies I suppose.
