Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

I think I'm spending way too much at coles. I have a triple points coupon for this weekend and I've just received a targeted offer email for my card. Spend $130 in one transaction and receive 500 bonus points. The last time I spent that much I was buying supplies and presents for a dinner party and the flybuys bonus that weekend was triple points and a 20 cent fuel voucher. I won't be taking up this offer. I hope they reduce the spend required for the next offer. The last time they offered me 500 points I only had to spend $100.

I'll be spending around $50 on the weekend at Coles for the triple points and the my5 discount. If my partner gets the 500 points for $50 spend offer then I might use his card for the purchase. I'll be giving up 150 points on my account making 550 points on his account.

My partners card just got the 500 points offer but for spending $60. I don't really want this account targeted at $60 so I will have to make a decision as to whether to take this offer up. I might take it up and then ignore the next couple of offers if they put the trigger amount up to $70.

Mine is for $50 spend...the most I ever spend at coles is around $20 so they seem to be keeping it fairly low...

They appear to be targeting this weekends offer at the really high end of someone's spending. My partner's card is only used for small transactions. The largest one we've used it for was $50 and that was only to get a $5 discount.

Have been asked if $10 off bill.....is this the best option or do they have the $20 cash back in to account still after 2500points?
Not sure if in right thread sorry

Hi PLANT,
After the relaunch the term Flybuys dollars came into use. To get flybuys dollars you convert 2000 points into $10 which is then loaded onto your flybuys card and you need a PIN to redeem it instore. The 2500 point $20 gift card no longer exists unfortunately. You need 4000 points for $20 in Flybuys dollars. The conversion rate is about 0.5cents per point for these rewards. This rate applies to many of the rewards you can get now. There are a couple of rewards you can get for better than 0.5cents per point and I think there are rewards for less than this amount as well.

Yeah well I reached $10 so I'm putting the Coles mastercard in the draw now!
I have my FB card linked to two others.
How do they claim....where is this PIN? ie do they make it up?
Regards

Hi PLANT.
This is getting tricky so bear with me. I only have a flybuys card, I don't have any of the credit cards that also earn flybuys points. If you have a specific credit card then you actually have two ways of getting $10 off at Coles.

The first way is to use the flybuys web site to redeem the reward called flybuys dollars. During the redemption process flybuys will ask you to set a PIN and when you are at Coles (and some of the other partners) you then use the Flybuys card like an EFTPOS card for $10 value when you are finalising the transaction. Flybuys claim that the funds are added almost immeditately.

The second way is to use your credit card to get $10 off your transaction using 2000 points from your flybuys account. You would have to talk to your credit card provider to make sure you have the exact card that does this, and they will explain how to get the checkout operator to use your flybuys points.

You talked about having your card linked to other cards. I can't answer your questions as the credit card aspect complicates matters so I don't want to give you the wrong information. If you use the flybuys dollars option above and swipe the flybuys card to redeem it then any linked cardholder can redeem the funds, provided they have the PIN.

I hope this information helps. I'm sorry I couldn't answer all of your questions.

Target are trying a new strategy when it comes to flybuys targeted offers. I used to get triple points offers storewide or for specific departments from time to time. I thought these were great as I could spend as little or as much as I wanted to get the reward.

Today I got a different type of offer. Earn 800 bonus points for spending $80 at Target in one transaction. The targeted offer starts from tomorrow and goes until september 11. I don't usually spend this much at Target, except for major toy sales, but at the moment I've got enough things the family needs at Target to justify spending this much in one transaction. I'd rather they didn't set the limit this high in the future.

I wonder whether Target are doing the same thing as Coles this week and offering selected members 800 points for various spending limits. I'd rather they target me at a much lower limit but as a once off I'm prepared to spend the $80. 80 and 800 seem to have a nice ring to it so maybe they are sending this offer to selected members who have ever spent this much in one transaction.

There are certain products I prefer to buy at Target rather than Big W so I'm not missing out on QFF points by taking up the offer.

Two triple point offers today for Coles for friday, saturday and sunday.

I've also got a $5 coupon this weekend for spending $110 and I could get the final balance down to $100 by using a Tell coles coupon. I only want about $20 worth of food this week from Coles so I'm not going to spend $80 on stock. I'll use my partners card to get the triple points and hope that there is a good deal next week.

My prediction is that next week Coles/Flybuys will be offering high value fuel vouchers for targeted amounts next week. I think this type of offer is being done every 4 weeks although it's possible that Flybuys will change their pattern.

As well as an offer of 500 bonus points for a $50 spend at Target (which I didn't take up), I also received an offer of 1,000 points for a $50 spend at 1st Choice liquor. As my daughter had given me a Coles gift card for my birthday, I put two and two together and headed off to 1st Choice.

Thought I was going to buy some wine (but couldn't find the one I wanted), so ended up buying three cases of (nearly out of date) quality beer for $75. Must say I've never had any bad beer even after the use-by date. So a worthwhile shopping expedition...

I was right with my prediction about targeted fuel offers being available this weekend. Can't post the details tonight. I will report our offers tomorrow.

My partner and I both got targeted fuel offers this week.

Me, spend $120 to get 12 cents per litre, $130 for 14cents and $140 for 16 cents. Either flybuys are making it really difficult for members to get fuel vouchers or I've been spending too much at Coles. I only spent $130 as a one off but I'm not planning on doing it again. I only had to spend $100 to get 15 cents at WW so spending $120 for 12 cents doesn't entice me at all.

Partner, spend $60 to get 10 cents per litre, $70 for 12 cents and $80 for 14 cents. I've obviously been spending too much on this account as well as I was hoping for targeted offers at the $40 or $50 mark. The only other time this account got a fuel voucher offer the starting value was $40 for 12 cents per litre. We'll probably take up the $60 offer and then perhaps we'll have to let the next couple of fuel offers go until they drop the qualifying value. I wonder if they'll continue with the 8 week vouchers like the one's I've got at the moment.

I also got a targeted offer on a particular brand of toothpaste. The offer lasts a couple of weeks. I could pick up 400 bonus points each time I buy the particular brand and variety. I'll have to check out the prices to see if it is worth it.

50 points per Tap and Go (PayPass) transaction, max 20 in the next month.

Think I'll knock a few off....

My partner and I both got triple points offers for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I also have a spend $110 to get $5 off coupon which I could combine with a Tell coles voucher to bring the final total to about $100 less the my5 discount. I don't have enough shopping needs this weekend after stocking up last week at Coles and WW so I won't be using the coupons. I'll probably do a small shopping trip with my card on Friday, check out the specials and other products at IGA then come back to Coles on Saturday and do a small shopping trip with my partners card.

There's only one more coupon in the 8 week promotion. I'm wondering whether Flybuys will send out more coupons and if they'll reduce my $5 discount qualification seeing as I only used one of the 4 $5 off coupons this time.

I feel ripped off; my offer was 500 points for over $110 spend in Coles.

I might just choose to not activate the offer and see what happens next week.

My offer, 500 points for over $100
Partner offer, 500 points for over $60.

We will probably use my offer. I can also get triple points using the last week 8 coupon and combine this with a Tell coles $5 voucher. One of my my5 products is on half price special so it would make sense to use my card this weekend so I can stock up.

I'd prefer my partners card to be targeted at $50 spend rather than $60 so if I don't use the offer this weekend then perhaps they will lower the qualifying spend amount for the next offer. The last time they offered me 500 points they wanted me to spend $130 to get it. I activated the offer but didn't use it. Now they have reduced the qualifying spend on my card to $100. Perhaps my wild theory will work.
