I am ending Feb as yet no P1 although on Wantas cash it is showing that a new card had sent, not yet arrived ( they blocked the old Qantas Cash Card and unable to use it effectively blocking my money on it ). Two other family members have been comped from NB to Sliver

Usually the new card keeps the old number (though expiry and security code do change) so I would have thought there'd be no problem. I've certainly not had issues in the past, however have stopped using it since I got a proper CC.

Here's my (further) 2 cents on this:

Basically as soon as one expects an (unpublished) benefit such as a comp renewal when short or similar it's almost guaranteed to NOT happen. It's great to get (for example) another year of WP with 200 SC short or Gold with 100 SC short but like I said if you really want these things then it's est to ensure you get there else disappointment may occur. In my view all these benefits like comps and the like are at the absolute discretion of QF (and of course few of these are via human intervention, but the valuing algorithm doing its thing in the background no doubt) but I, for one, would not want to chance attaining a status level I'm not strictly entitled to based on others anecdotal experience, or even past experience for myself (kind of like "Why didn't I get a bonus SC offer this year?" thing).

My year ends in March, and currently sitting on 1175. While I have some partner flights booked for the last week of March, if they're going to comp me, it will happen before that. Let's see what happens.

I have received a letter from Qantas the last 2 years telling me they are doing me a favour maintaining my gold status when I haven't quite qualified.....both times by the end of the month I have reached the 600 points required to maintain gold anyway.

Hope they keep up the trend next year as I am hoping to cut back on work trips this year but want to take the family to Europe next year and SG benefits would be great!

You should be fine. I have been comped Platinum 3 times and qualified each time.

Not going to make Platinum until 2 days before end of anniversary this year so expecting another comp.

I would not mind being Comped P1 as I have made about 1430 SC which supposedly are getting wiped today.

Hopefully the SC earned on tonight's flight will be not lost in the end of year SC drain?

If you depart on 29 Feb then they will be counted in that year. You will start to accrue new SCs from 01 March.

Hvr I did prepare for the worst case scenario .......?although the Dubai LHR sector is 1st March is that any use? Probably not right?

Depends, do you have different flight numbers or just one straight through?

I reckon if you only got one BP then they will all be counted as 29 Feb, if two BPs then you may get lucky and have some accrue to the 16-17 membership year.

Please let us know how they credit for future reference.

How do you know when the comp happens? My year ended 29 Feb, and I didn't even reach half the points needed to get gold (first year gold). But my page (now on 1st March) still shows gold and now with expiry Feb 2017. Have I been comp'ed, or should I expect to update to silver in the next few days? I have a flight on Friday that would be nice to be gold for.

No letter, nor email either way.

Mrs. Swan and I have travelled extensively in the last year, mostly on award bookings with numerous small Y flights. The SC's earned were less than 200. I was surprised today that I retained Platinum and Mrs Swan retained Gold. Qantas are being incredibly generous. On a three year average I would be substantially short of Platinum. Hopefully others with Feb anniversaries are also receiving a pleasant comp surprise.

I wish this will happen to me. Had to cancel a flight that would have requalified me to SG due to a DVT. MrP has already requalified to WP - our year ends 30 April. He's LTG anyway.

Remember it often takes a few days for the sweeps to kick in and you may well find demoted sstatus(but hopefully not!) in the next few days.

as for comping P1. lol. I think that's about the only level I've never heard of a comp to - and you can understand why

When that 'error' happens, does it usually have the 2017 date inserted or just the status being unchanged.

Congratulations on comp the but have you actually received the letter and card for 2016 yet? IIRC when I went down from WP to SG last year the system showed WP for a week or two before all the updates went through and I received my SG card.
I think it is still too early to know, unless you have received the letter and card whether QF has comped you.

It really would be a disappointment now not to get comp, my account has been reset to 0 SC and is showing Platinum. I thought I was OK, but now I'll have to wait out another couple of days to be sure?

We are presently overseas and have been travelling since 19 Jan, so I don't know if a letter and card has been sent.
i am now getting nervous as the more I think about it, the more unlikely it seems.

Don't think Qantas will be comping Platinum One anytime soon.

The letter and new card for my SG comp at end Feb, (based on the 3 year rule - 940 SC, 900 SC, 400 SC) came through a couple of weeks ago. I also go a congratulatory pop up on my FF page confirming it.
