I am ending Feb as yet no P1 although on Wantas cash it is showing that a new card had sent, not yet arrived ( they blocked the old Qantas Cash Card and unable to use it effectively blocking my money on it ). Two other family members have been comped from NB to Sliver

I was comped WP , middle of August last year, but I also had a few flights already booked which took me over what I needed by the 31st of August anyway, hopefully that unneeded comp won't count against me when I do actually need it.

I did at the end of last year, to gold, even though I had already made gold in my own right.

If QF comp you and then you re-qualify off your own bat, the re-qualify is not effected.

ie, if you fail this year, and your 3 year average is sufficient, you should be good for a comp next year. No harm, no foul.

Thanks, handy to know. I did think it was pretty rich to send me a letter telling me they were doing a favour and comping me when I had enough anyway.

I was comped WP in January this year
2011 -WP
2012 - not sure how many SCs but I dropped down to SG
2013 - 1760SC
2014 - 1220SC
2015 - 620SC

My year ends 31 May. Think I will get to 1200 SCs exactly on 29 May.

Had some excess vouchers from last year and booked some flights to get me over the line. Too gutless to see if they will comp me Platinum first time. Don't think I can handle Gold while I am still commuting.

I'm in the same boat... except I don't have any vouchers and will probably fall about 120 SCs short by the end of May and will still have my mostly weekly commute to SYD/CBR for another 12 months... I can't go back to the QP from the JLounge and no access to 4A & 4K... DQKWIA*!!

I've done two paid J trips to the US in the past two years and have re-qualified WP for the past three years.

Never had (or needed) a comp... but this might have to be my year.

This is the 2nd year, (is the one I was wondering on here about few weeks back), but thinking/musing about it, I am now not letting it chance by me.
So have decided to book bit by bit and fly the sectors by Jul 16, to get to 600/610 SC.
And yes, I am aware of Aquire.

Logged in today to see my Status had been confirmed for another year (WP) despite being a good 225 sc's short (atm) and my year ending feb 29. I do however have travel booked to cover it so not sure if this is just QF being on the ball and seeing I should re-qualify or not!

Also scored by points upgrade into J for my flight home so feeling the QF love today!

I think I remember you saying Poochie that your business set up does not really allow you to use Acquire. I just thought that I had read that you said you would have enough SCs by the end of July to re-qualify as you were not going to chance it yet.

Totally off topic: Courtesy reply: The only reason I had to get an ABN is because I have rental income, to a lesser extent though, it also covers the fact my sub contract work as a cleaner needs it.
I don't have any business/contacts/business contacts interstate or overseas, I travel for pleasure.
I presuppose I could join Aquire, give my ABN, pay the fee (or have it wavied-which I believe its at the moment), and then just travel on that ABN. You know, just fly on the ABN till our friend at the ATO come asking, or if QF comes asking.
But I am a coward. ((Thought I provide a cleaning service, I am the end provider, so can't claim back any GST on services provided/or GST on some minimal cost involved.))
I have a reporting requirement to my payer, though its a hands off sort of arrangement.
Lets see how much my rental and subbie cleaning income for Feb is and Mar is first tho...
Have booked and flown 310, have another 100 booked, looking at trans Tasman (not booked yet), for Apr school hols. Then maybe a PER - ADL in J, or Au - CHC in mid Jul.
But if I do get comped closer to Jul, I will report back.
