For those who have been comped status

You dont need any status credits when LTG.

Can't get access to F lounges tho!

Indeed. Thats a WP treat unless you pay the dosh.

I thought there was a thought that people with LTG still had to earn status credits to retain it. Which would be a bit screwy. I think it got mixed up with the WP mention.

Yes, a confused issue.

... and my new WP card was waiting for me when I returned from two weeks in Nouvelle Calédonie.:)

Received comped PS status sitting on ~220SC about 4 weeks out from anniversary date. However in the three weeks following I did 6 international sectors, enough to bounce me through PS and into SG for the first time!
Nice to know the comp was there though; just waiting on my SG card to arrive in the mail now!

With LTG I would have thought the number of SC to maintain Gold would not be a large number...

But I should stick to wandering

Fred
I am sorry if I was obscure :). I meant I will be losing WP next year and joining the ranks of gold (probably forever). Fortunately I will not lose access to F lounges (unless the share market totally implodes, which is quite possible).

I received my Platinum renewal today - just the standard pack but clearly a comp - 760 SCs this year but presumably OK on the 3 year average. I'm just surprised not to also have received some sort of letter "you haven't flown as much this past year, but based on your history we have comped you".

In any event, I'm pleased to not have to try out my LTG for another year.

Just received my QFF PS renewal. Last three years 710/280/80 SC with QFF year end Feb.
OTOH from ticketed reservations QFF can see, I will have QFF Silver earned by 13 March. And possibly QFF WP later.

I wonder if my query to customer care about using my CX status to access the PER International QP while crediting PER-SIN discount Y to QFF shook things up a bit. At least I will get a few extra status bonus miles.

Happy wandering

Fred

It may possibly have been better to not be comped, drop to bronze, then re-earn Silver and have it for another 23½ months.

I will be SG by mid-May on the same tickets. So will have the associated soft landing barring un-intended and unforeseen actions. There also was a recent post indicating that "maybe" QFF is taking into consideration the flights already ticketed in the period shortly after the anniversary date. In my case it saved them the cost of the bronze card and postage.

OTOH this may be my last year of serious overseas flying...

That's my logic, should drop to Silver next week, and be back to SG by mid-April followed by WP in August.

Soft Landing? That's long term thinking based on my assumption of an end of Feb "Year" expiry.

If your "year" ends on Feb 28th and you have 700 SC's by mid May, then SG would be yours until 28th February 2019, then soft land to PS 'til Deb 29th 2000.

And if I finagle enough flights credited to QFF to earn WP I'd keep PS (or better) till 28 Feb 2021.... Whether I have any funds to use SG up to 29 Feb 2020 is the "interesting" proposition at the moment... The annual travel insurance (like age hopefully) keeps going up as well.

Struck Gold : Comped

Didn't think I was a hope after 5 or 6 years as SG and only amassing 200SC's this past year. Have a 5 year average of a modest 750SC and less than that for the last 3 years. Anniversary date is 31/03 so you can imagine I was in 2 minds checking my account on April Fools day :D
Anyway a great result for me and another year my QC membership stays on ice! Cheers CM

With 5-6 years as a SG and with an average over that time of 750 sc always gave you a chance of a comp. They would also have looked at the revenue when deciding.

However the one caution I give you is wait a few days to ensure this is a real comp instead of system waiting to see if there are any late flights to get you back to SG, which at 200 SCs is virtually nil but there is a definite system rule here and I thought I was comped one year but three days later it disappeaed. :(
