I think this might just be the Dockers year.

I thought the "Painters and Dockers" were from Melbourne. Where are they playing?

Worth looking at indirect flights? PER-ASP/ADL-MEL etc? Awards might be a bit easier too.

How about US DM PER-AKL-MEL in business for peanuts... Or even the new QF service, has that started yet?

It has taken 19 years for the Dockers to make an AFL grand final.
The rush for seats on planes and accommodation may stretch Melbourne from tonight.
By the way who is going to the grand final?

Yes they are, all thebest by the way.

I haven't formed a view on this game as yet. But if you are coming over all thebest I hope it's not a wasted journey

QF have announced 4 extra flights to MEL.

I see 2 are overnight Friday flights and one is morning Friday. There are a few classic awards in J on the Friday MEL-PER (none on Saturday - ie the possibly returning birds) and on the Monday coming back (ie MASA candidates).

I wonder if the extra flights' aircraft are staying in MEL till they go back after the game? Anyone know?

I think this might just be the Dockers year.

Even though a WA team i am sort of leaning towards hoping not as i have a few work mates who are Dockers fans and i have been giving them grief about it for a few years... I like the Eagles being the only team in town able to say they have a cup(s)...

But what will be will be... :)

It really is not too late to switch once in your life Casanovawa! However do it before you have kids as mine gave me grief over switching in the EPL about 10 years ago.
Extra capacity has been put on by Qantas and Virgin and cars are being made ready for the 2+ days of driving from Perth.
i heard a bus will be going and the train has full loads.

We should hear about our tickets in a short time from now. Fingers crossed that we get those additional two.

For those looking for an exit from MEL back to PER post game suggest check additive fares over BNE. Oddly I couldnt get QF.COM or webjet to throw up these options
still ouch worthy but <800 one way stacks up against other options

Ticket pick up starts from noon today so then we will know if it is five or six tickets.

Wish I could be there...will be watching the game at O'reilly's Irish Pub, Reuchilinstrasse, Stuttgart...would be great if anyone around here wants to join.

We will be walking back towards the casino. Would that work for a location?
We got 4 seats and 2 standing room from our six requested. Mrscove and I have bagged a seat each.

Yes we will be walking from the G back into city also - usual spot in times gone by was Bridie O'Reilly's in Little Collins St or Royce in St Kilda Rd - let me think for a bit

FWIW, the MCG bars will remain open 'til 8pm - Premiership Party - AFL.com.au

Picked up two more AFL tix (non Hawks support [boo]) this morning; all in section P as with yesterdays.
2 pts to consider though:
1. Experiencing the vibe during the walk from the G back into the city amongst 50K GF revellers has to be experienced to be believed
2. Might be best to undertake the walk prior to 'upload of liquid cargo'!

How do you know they are non Hawks support?;)
