Brilliant. I was just looking to restock as the 12 kgs I bought in April have all but gone.

Had a bit of a wake up call today on how easy it is to do the wrong thing! My next door neighbour put on her Facebook page that she was taking her teenage daughter to get tested because she wasn’t feeling well. Problem is the girl came in to see us on Friday to give us some chocs and a plant and she brought her 4 year old brother and I gave him a couple of hugs and he passed his bottle around as a bit of a game. Ms FM and baby were visiting so we all congregated in the entrance hall chatting and then didn’t wash our hands after they left. So lots of things done wrong!

I am sure it’s not a problem, but just so easy to get complacent and forget the rules! Will have a nervous few days until the test comes back - as much for Ms FM as ourselves as she is vulnerable

I can't believe it and you've been a member of AFF for over 10 years. They are only made in SA and lovers love and haters hate. Hope you're work isn't too stressful at the moment. I hope your friend likes them

Well good news - the test came back negative - only took 8 hours! So now I need to put into my mind - social distancing, no hugging toddlers!

drron. Any idea how they would classify co morbidity? Would for example a person who initially presented to their GP with high blood pressure, cholesterol etc but are at present successfully managing the health condition by medication be classified as having co morbidity?

Interesting. Have been tracking case figures over here as well using the ECDC data and it's interesting to note that with borders opened up in Europe, while most countries have had rises (Spain has gone mad again, but in localised areas) both Italy and Greece (although it's had a slight uptick in the past few days) are holding steady with no major increases. Not so the case for other holiday hot spots..... to me it says they may well have good measures in place that are helping to control the spread, whereas some other European countries perhaps don't.

Both charts make sense separately of course, but it's the interaction of the covariates that I'm interested in as they seem to have a reasonable sample size. Any link available to the statistical analysis?

Eg. How much of a role does hypertension play in elevating the risk of death in, say, the 40-49 year old age group compared with obesity (which, alone, seems a (surprisingly?) low risk indicator)?

Or, another way, how much does being a skinny 80-90 year old with no pre-history of cancer in the last five years and no hypertension increase the chances of survival?

That stuff is in the paid version of the report.I have seen one report on twitter that all the under 30 deaths had co morbidities.So yes in the 40-49 year age group hypertension does lead to an increased risk.No report I have seen whether still the same relative risk as the total population.

so assume in a few months, we get down to virtually zero or single digit cases per day, and we have it under control and life has started to get back to normal,

given that the its the elderly that get infected/dying a lot

does that mean its possible that even though we have it under control, there could be still multiple daily deaths of this demographic?

eg 9 cases per day, and 3 deaths

ie its still going to be very dangerous for them even after we have "got it under control"?

Jacinda Adern just held an emergency press conference announcing four new confirmed Covid-19 cases in one family, acquired from an unknown source (no overseas travel), so community transmission in NZ, no where is immune.

NZ held up as gold standard, so will be interesting to see if they can identify the cause and quash the spread.
