General Coronavirus chit chat thread - non-travel specific

I never made any claims, do you have any evidence that its all ok as long as they dry clean the table cloths etc.
I believe that QLD Health have quite a few staff who could have done that assessment. And believe or not with the exception of Victoria where I have not worked QLD and WA are the most organised of the States Health Departments IMHO.

We just received news that a retired lawyer Mrscove worked with is recovering well from COVID-19. He has been in ICU in a Perth hospital and i received a call to say he is now sitting up and talking. He was on a ventilator for days after returning from New York City.

 So you were on Bondi?

Everybody has to play their part. If you and I do the right thing, it's all for nothing if a large chunk of the community don't. The Bondi example was the best example of this.

geez, that’s a worry... from what I’ve experienced first hand, even when given monies they can’t buy anything faster than 3 months...

I’ve had to go to the CMO’s office to make something happen.

You should go to South Australia or Tasmania. Will have to sit down some time and talk to you about those places.Tasmania makes up for it as the administrations don't get in your way.
At a major regional NSW hospital a few years back I transferred a patient to a Sydney hospital.i had to go to Big W and buy a few DVD discs to send the scans with the patient as all the hospital suppliers refused to provide anything until the bills were paid.

Oi. SA is doing as well as it can right now, shame we got inundated a little by American Tourists and cruise ship passengers. At the moment, I'm not sure I want to go on a cruise for a very long time.

The bold is for the dummies that don't think this thing will make the Spanish Flu look like a test run.

FWIW, I'm 60/40 that this thing is man-made.

Was the winery related to the US tourists? It's all a little vague on that story.
Hard to tell

I took the assumption Lyndoch was one of many stops - it’s not a winery I had heard of

In more intriguing news, my aunt and uncle switched ships and now on Vasco Gamba so will enjoy Looking out the window at Quokkas on Rottnest Island !

Curious, have they been on a long voyage, or recently boarded knowing the global situation?

I do hope your relatives are ok.

They were about a month into a voyage taking in Indonesia, Japan, China (they knew it was canned), Vietnam, and around to India, eventually onto London.

Knowing what we know now, it’s a bit like the guy from Adelaide (conservative) who took his damil6 onto the White Island volcano 🌋 would you ?

Cousins Haven’t heard from them in a week and given primary age (late 70s) its a time of intense consternation

Too much constant news, I am now using ABC Jazz to soothe the nerves. (Oh and a bit of red wine tonight.
Partly cause Adelaide case rate includes 10 tourists, 5 at lyndoch, 5 at waikerie and 5 somewhere regional plus a stack off ruby prcincess so it’s like this. Picture a full Adelaide Oval of 50,000 - 7 are infected. Ps USA Has filled Adelaide Oval with infections ugh

Always look on the bright side, Rottnest is the safest place out of that list.

Best wishers for your family.

So you’re on an average $370,000 annual salary and you agree to a 50% pay cut (185,000) but baulk at 75% ($92,500). Guys get with reality. The average Aussie earns $2 million in 40 years of work and you

I can’t believe The audacity of the well-off. I seen comments from someone who owns 2 hotels, and another several freehold investment properties (plus the Property Club). Need to take a leaf from Bob Hawke. “Any boss that sacks their staff for taking a day off is a bum”. We seem to have a lot of bums about .....

Capitalism is a small group of people collectively getting a lot of cash which didn’t involve doing any labor.
Socialism is a large group of people collectively getting a lot of cash which didnt involve doing any labor....
