It has been a case of competing health interests and Covid won that round. Now it's the health model versus the economic damage management model in play.

Ah, I dunno, they sound pretty good to me - if I make it over at the end of the year I'll be sure to add that to the list of goodies I'm planning to stock up on! Twisties, chicken salt, Fantales, Minties, Fruchocs, Shapes, Tim Tams etc.

And I thought you had some taste and you go and mention chicken salt - BLEH ;)

One of the benefits of having no job and being stuck at home is I'm searching for new recipes to try and ones that are Mrs FB friendly. Just making lunch now, if it turns out to be any good.... will post in the relevant thread. It's very simple to make, with not many ingredients but hopefully tastes good!

Very different feeling waking around Brisbane today.
The ease on restrictions and beautiful weather brought a lot of families and small groups out, private boats sailing down the river and even some bars reopened selling bottle/cans of beer for people to drink outside.

This is a significant test and I hope we pass it in the next two weeks.

Happy wife, happy life.

If however it tastes no good, it was nice knowing you ;)

I don't care what's in it - it takes sh!te to me :p
And fish and chip shops find it weird when you say no chicken salt! Have you been to "stunned mullet" shop just off Military Road near us? best ever fish and chips.

No but I'll put it on the list. I'll go and buy some and sit in front of your apartment and eat them (not that I know exactly where you are but I'll send you a message when I'm there - :D

Before moving interstate, I went for nearly 20 years (even after I moved and lived in the Adelaide hills) to one that was on the Henley square (now gone, think it became a bakery?). They were fantastic. I so miss SA Garfish and King George Whiting.

There is an excellent fish and chip shop there as well. The best fish too. Depends on how far we want to walk! 😂.

Well just invited a friend to come and play games next Friday - feels weird. I know he has been totally isolating. We have told another friend he is not invited, as he is the principal of a school and far too risky :) And also only two households allowed - just thought of that!

Last year in Brooklyn we did a tour of New York’s oldest and lovely Cemetry. I know this year they decided to keep the gates open for people to walk through and contemplate.
Just got this email from them, apparently people don’t know how to behave in a cemetery.

Dear gmoh,

It’s very difficult for me to send this email. The conduct of a small percentage of our visitors has created an unacceptable situation. If things don’t change, we may be left with no choice but to close our gates as many other cemeteries have done.

Four weeks ago today, we decided to staff all four of our gates until 7pm every day of the week. We knew how important that was. We all need open space, a connection to nature, and a place for serenity. Thousands of you have come to visit. We’ve been delighted to welcome you.

But some of our visitors have behaved very badly. They have brought their dogs. They've ridden bikes. Their kids have climbed trees. They've taken flowers that had been placed on graves. None of these actions is appropriate or permitted.

Green-Wood is a cemetery. It is an arboretum, and a place of tranquility. Families come to visit the graves of their loved ones. It is not a public park. It is a not a place of recreation. Our rules are clear on what is allowed and what is not.

With the nice weather predicted this weekend, we will surely again be seeing large crowds. We have a group of volunteers who will be assisting us as Green-Wood Ambassadors, making sure the cemetery rules are honored.

Hopefully, not whilst holding bloody big guns and chanting, lock her up as the governor is a female. 😊 But, it’s okay because Trump thinks they’re all very nice people. Presumably he includes pinup boys in that.

Though one of the left's pin up boys is also demanding an easing of the lockdown.

One of the patients today was wearing her mask as an eye mask so she could sleep.
