Didn't you also have the flu before you had the flu vaccine? Not easy in your line of work.
I also had the flu last year after the flu injection.

I had the flu shot more than a month ago. And now I have the flu and will be off work for at least a week.
At least I have lots of television to watch and may even be able to find some jokes to post on AFF.
I had the flu vac and also got para influenza virus type 3. Never had a cough before, but got one this time and painful. And, the inevitable sinusitis.

Ok that's not good. Think I've had the flu after the flu vaccine once in 19 years.I also had the flu last year after the flu injection.
LOL. I agree. It was more that I didn't get round to having a flu shot not an active avoidance.*the sound of every medical-type on AFF slapping their foreheads*
Had a refresher course in Australian culture today.
A day before I scoot back overseas to my main life, I realised I was out of Allopurinol - a thing for gout. I strode into the local pharmac_, asked for what I needed, and they then asked to see my script! Of course I don't have one - almost everything in Sth America is "over-the-counter". The young lady tried to be helpful, giving me directions to a local medical practitioner where if I got an appointment I could get a script.
Another $100 or whatever it costs a foreigner to see a GP? No thanks - will wing it
I think it can all be a bit trial and error so hope there is no negative impact on the kidney.Well if you don't have allopurinol, I hope you have some colchicine just in case........
My gp has a bit of a thing about uric acid levels and increased my daily dosage of ap to 450mg, in order to reduce the ua levels in the blood and dissolve some of the tophi that have formed. This seems to have worked well over the last year as the rather prominent lumps on my wrists have shrunk markedly. My ua level was .22 recently, however he wants to get it down to.20 so has put me on 600mg/day.
Not sure how this will go as I read somehere this may overload my one remaining kidney.
SIL going in next week for a knee replacement. Originally she was booked in for hip but the knee is apparently worse so they are going to do that first. Being a public patient she has had to wait.Right hip has started hurting with pain down the upper leg. Pain more severe than left hip.
I was hoping to avoid a hip replacement but may need one sooner rather than later.
My knees and ankles have been taking the brunt of the hip issues. Not fun.SIL going in next week for a knee replacement. Originally she was booked in for hip but the knee is apparently worse so they are going to do that first. Being a public patient she has had to wait.
No, not me, that was my wife. You have thyroid issues from memory? Those symptoms are very similar.
But if I ever have one I wake up not knowing what day it is and very fuzzy in the head. What's wrong with an afternoon nap ?
An inconvenience if you have things that need to be done that afternoon? What's wrong with an afternoon nap ?
